Anyhow Piopu beach is where one must go. And walk on the beach barefeet to feel the sand. It's like a fine powder. Purest I've seen and felt. California's finest beaches don't hold a candle. I know, cause I lived in Cali for almost 10 years. https://www.poipubeach.com/photos/ka...pu-beach-2.jpg Poipu Beach. |

How are the beaches closer to the west side of the island? |

If given a choice, which island would you want to visit, assuming a solo trip?

I would still choose Oahu. The city life is there, if you want it. The R&R is there is you want to get away from the city life. West Oahu is "popular" now since a lot of people are "anti-Waikiki." I recommend http://www.turtlebayresort.com/ Closer to the North Shore. A more country feel. Honolulu is 45 mins away. There is more outdoor nature stuff to do on that side of the island. Yes, there is the bus, and does stop at the hotel, but you will need a car, so factor that in. Counter Point: For the single guy, I would stay near Waikiki, so there will be more $$$ to do other things. Hotels a few blocks away (Kuhio, Ala Wai, or Ala Moana) cost less than Waikiki beach (front). Since there are lots of hotels there, they are more price competitive. |
Re: What are you eating right now?
You couldn't pay me to go Waikiki :)
