Send them away

On the mainland, when they move a homeless person from Oakland to San Jose, they will only find their way back. Rinse and repeat. Too costly.
Back in the 90s, homeless shelter agencies on the mainland would offer one-way tickets for homeless people to go to Hawaii. Problem solved.
Can Hawaii send some back?

Re: Send them away
People ask me, that beach front Waikiki hotel rate is pretty expensive. $325 a night. I say, get a nice $30 tent and set it up at the beach. Same, no?
More winning IMO.

The In-crowd now go to West Oahu, where the former Barbars Point Naval Station used to be. Since they shut down (budget cuts - Thanks George Bush), that land and area has been opened up for resort development, like Disney as one example.
But since Parking pull a premium, staying at Waikiki is not a bad idea. You can walk and not need a rental car. Oh...and not deal with parking.
