Default Would you rather fight a dog or cat?

We’re talking a wild 130lb dog insert some breed that’s large and viscous like a Great Pyrenees or an 80lb mountain lion?

*bonus: or dodge dazmans killer 0-60

Dog.

100 times out of 100.

Wait, gimme dodging daz taking a corner at 28 instead of 25 as he narrowly avoids rolling over. I'm in my athletic prime as a veteran idiot aversion trained pedestrian.

80lb cat. A lot of those 130lb dogs are breed to fight/kill the 80lb cats.

I'm going off my buddy's 125 pound Corso. He's a bitch...I'd wreck that dog.
Bad example but that's what I went off of lol.

Never 1v1 though. My cousin in law is a goat farmer in LA area and they have 3-4 of the dogs who stick together to fight off mountain lions and protect the goats. He’s lost a dog or two over the years because it goes off solo, I’m sure the cat got the jump on it but either way I’d put money on the cat 1v1 after talking to him.

Dog, every time. Cat's, even when small, are natural apex predators. If you're of equal size or smaller, even if they don't want to eat you, they'll want to "play" with you.

I'd have to say dog. I wouldnt want to fight either one, maybe i could make friends with the dog first?

Not alone they aren't. They aren't meant to work alone. Most 130lbs dogs aren't gonna stand a chance against a cat like that. But guardian dogs rarely encounter big cats. Mostly coyotes. And one big dog isn't enough for coyotes. I watched a video a few months ago where a couple got a new Great Pyrenees for their 80 acre "ranch". I told my wife that dog would be dead within a few weeks. And sure enough it was. It's a common scenario. One coyote will lure the dog out into the brush and then the rest of the coyotes kill the dog.

The fact that you give the dog a 50 pound weight advantage already tells me all I need to know.

Cats > Dogs when fighting.

Isn't a wild 130 lb dog called a wolf?

I was making it clear this wasn't your domesticated home dog. Also not all 130lb dogs are wolves

Yes but pits are absolute **** for guardian dogs on a farm. It could handle the coyotes maybe but it couldn't do the rest of the job.

Hard to say. Cats pound-for-pound are more lethal.

But an 80lb mountain lion vs a trained Pit/Rottweiller/Mastiff/Fila/Ovcharka/Malinois/GSD/Presa/Corso that's out for blood....

**** this is a toss up. I may go with cat, because even though it has the claws, 80lbs may be easier to subdue.

a 130lb dog is going to have a massive ******* head and neck. that's gonna be tough to strangle.
