"F" this car and the bastards that designed it. A girlfriend had one of these POS cars and a headlight bulb was burned out. I said I would change it.
BIG ******* mistake.

I will miss regularly seeing these smashed or burned in junkyards. They never seem to go quietly around here. It's as if they're mostly driven by self-obsessed ******* who won't stop taking selfies long enough to watch traffic.

I wanted one of these badly back in the OG days, with Centerline wheels. Yes, with Centerline wheels only. Or maybe I actually like the wheels better and wanted a car to fit the wheels. Below is just a photo from the web.

Was eyeing a 1968 Bug for the longest time, on the bus, on my way to school. It was just parked there with no love. Then it got away. Dream was crushed. Bugs were MF Cool. Then I finally got to ride in one in the late 80s in a friend's 72 or 71 (?). Yes, I had the same feeling like I was going to fall through the floor. No thanks. The point of the story is sometimes we have to drive our dream cars to see. Perception and reality (or fantasy) can be two very different things. Then again, by that time, I was all about Hondas so that could have jaded my POV.

P.S. And the way owners tilt up that engine cover from the hinge end, to let in more air (cause sports car) was so sexy..

Had a friend in HS who was really into bugs. He built one that has a 2110 in it and said he could get the front end off the ground with street tires.

Would be fun to have a big motor in one and have a clone of some DKP guys.

Be careful with big motor fantasies.

Type One suspensions are nothing like what Honda people might expect.

The basic handling characteristics are the opposite of what you might expect in any given situation, and no amount of modifying will fix it.

120-150 HP is really all you want.

The basic design is from the 1930’s. You can only do so much.

Huh? Handling? I just want to do wheelies on the street.

Who cares about how well it handles.

Big motor bug for the wheelies and a miata for the handles
