New beetle/911 have absolutely nothing in common anymore besides the front fenders/headlights being "kinda" the same shape. And by kinda, I mean Kelly Clarkson kinda having the same body shape as Lana Del Rey.

No matter how I look at it, I see a Golf. :-)

I used to think about trying to find a way to get one of the late production Mexican air cooled Beetles, but it always looked too complicated. You're supposed to find an old but perfectly good floor pan and transfer the modern Mexican parts onto it.

But it's not worth all that.

The US market never got the fun Beetles,as usual. Would drive the 2001 Beetle RSi. 3.2L VR6,6MT,and 4 motion
