Default USS Fitzgerald Crash

Quote:
Marine traffic records suggest the ACX Crystal made a sudden U-turn roughly 25 minutes before the collision with the USS Fitzgerald. It is not clear why it changed course.

Took quite a beating.

7 sailors missing, some hospitalized, including the captain.

Stupid CNN stated the USS Destroyer hit someone, when it was actually the Destroyer that got hit. got t-bone.

What a strange story. Doesn't really make sense on the face of it.

Two large ships. Maximum available speeds bordering on what a pro can extract from a bicycle.

Did the incident occur on a foggy night?

Someone is in a lot of trouble

Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searches all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters

^^ most powerful verse ever

Almost as powerful as this:

Across the street the river runs
Down in the gutter life is slipping away
Let me still exist in another place
Running under cover of a helicopter blade

The flames are getting higher in effigy
Burning down the bridges of my memory
Love may still be alive somewhere someway
where they're downing only deer
a hundred steel towns away

Oh rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum
with the words "I love you" rolling off my tongue

No never will I roam for I know my place is home
where the ocean meets the sky
I'll be sailing

Sounds like the seven missing drowned in their bunks

"The bodies of seven U.S. sailors missing after a Navy destroyer collided with a container ship off Japan were found in flooded berthing compartments, a defense official said"

It's a destroyer, pretty sure they would blow the other ship up if they was just a random ship making course corrections headed straight at them.

although it is a bit odd they collided. I mean two giant machine traveling at a snail pace (comparative to the time they have to detect a collision) colliding in open water.

Judging from military experience, the chances that someone was asleep at the wheel of the destroyer is basically 0

But WHY did it turn towards the destroyer like that? Pretty sure they have a system that detects 'object's' in their path

yeah thats why its weird

keep in mind they corrected course 25 miles before the collision, which would leave them like a whopping 45 minutes avoid collision

Not unless the Captain was too chickenshit to fire. Captain is at fault here.

One does not simply "blow up" another ship.

It happened at night, someone probably wasn't paying attention on watch and this happened. It was a broadside

If they knew at the time of the collision that it was likely the 7 sailors drowned in their berths, then that relieves much of why I thought it was so strange.

My biggest question was why the ship left the vicinity if 7 were missing.

This of course leaves many other questions, but my biggest question has been answered, if the answer is the truth.

they knew what the vessel was. Every not military ship in the world broadcasts it's signal. You can watch them live via map.
