Gotta teach the kids work ethic somehow.

Same.
since I don't have alot of foot traffic in the house I mop once a month, bathroom and kitchen gets cleaned once a week on the weekends. I open windows during my cleaning to let in some fresh air. Bedroom gets cleaned once a month.

Also sayin.

Majority of my furniture is white/light grey. Black cat.

Place generally still spotless bc am not gross.

We have kids and both work, our house looks "lived in" and is rarely spotless. Dishes in the sink (clean or dirty), laundry falling out of the wash room doors, random things left here and there, it's a big reason we don't have company over. I don't give a **** what it looks like but wife doesn't want anyone over "while the house looks like this", yet she refuses to even try sticking to any kind of cleaning schedule or holding our kids to chores. She takes the time to clean before big events (fam coming over for holiday) and will spend days prior killing herself over it, but can't be bothered to put the ******* salt shaker back in the cabinet when she's done using it. Fine by me, I'm antisocial by nature and I'm sure as hell not gonna be the only one cleaning **** up, but I refuse to pay a maid to do something that we as a family can most certainly do.

HOWEVER, I grew up in a ******* model home so I'll take what I've got over that any day. My mother obsessed over a clean house to the point where I wasn't even comfortable in it and had to spend every Saturday morning between the ages of 10-18 cleaning. Couldn't do **** anywhere in the house without fear of her flying off the handle so I shut myself away in my room for my high school years as a result so that I could catch no blame. Still don't like spending time in my parents home, it just never felt like a "home".

lol @ housekeepers.
Maybe if I had zero time because I'm so busy with work and kids then I'd consider it.

Screw being busy for work and having kids though

$300 a month isnt getting you a house keeper, it gets you a house keeping service that comes maybe once a week.

An onsite house keeper is much, much more than that.

correct, I guess I should have specified just twice a month but I think most people got it.
