Yeah I pretty much don't answer anything.

I have noticed most of the calls come from your phone's local area code. Since my number is from when I was in high school, it is still the old area code. So anything 574 calling me I know is probably nothing.

If you answer, it gets worse. I get maybe 2 or 3 a day and I just decline. I also use RoboKiller.

I don't answer but when I'm at work I call the number back from my work phone just to make sure it's nothing, then I block that number on my cell.

It has gotten worse over the past year or so with these robocalls.

It seems a couple days a week I receive multiple calls, been a little while now though. Knock on wood.

I signed up for the Federal opt out site a while ago but that didn't change anything.

It's definitely getting annoying. Sucks for my job too because half the time it's people I need to talk to. I just ignore them all and wait for a voicemail now.

Just wait for a VM or text if it's legit. Otherwise, must have not been important.

Spam calls are ******* out of control. Some days I will get up to like 10 calls per day all from the area code which I got my phone in. I blame fbook for selling my data before I deleted my account.

I've been getting a couple spam texts recently. But yeah, I don't answer my phone anymore if it's a call I don't recognize.

you should be able to report it to your provider and they'll investigate the origin. I did this vigorously last yr and this yr the amt of robo calls has dropped.

YouMail has got pretty good with Spam calls. You can also activate a switch that bans "near number" calls.

Maybe restrict your calls to numbers already in Contacts?

iOS allows you to send "Unknown" numbers to a folder where you can look at them when you have time...or not.

That is a very bad practice, if you don't mind my saying.

You're alerting people that your number works.

If you want to have a quicker impact, and you're not allowed to use call blocking, then answer the call but don't say anything.

Pick up the phone, answer, and just put it down.

Go on with life.

You'll start dropping out of the numbers lists.

Exactly.

Except if they get your voice mail, they still know the number's good.

They'll drop you faster if you answer and put the phone down with the line active, not saying anything at all.

I have a different approach, I have a Google Pixel 3 XL and it has a call screening feature. When an unknown call comes in, I tap the "Screen Call" option and the phone speaks a set script of something like, "The person you're calling is using a call screening system from Google; please state your name and why you're calling and that will be relayed to the person you're calling." When the caller speaks their name and reason, the system converts their spoken words into text and displays it on the phone for me to read. I have the option to either answer the call or to block the number and report it as SPAM.

The cool thing is the report goes back to a central Google database which then helps out other owners of the Pixel phones. Many times now I've been alerted to a SPAM call attempt from a number which has never called me before, so clearly the system works.

I’ve been letting all unknown numbers go to voicemail for 3 years now, I’ less effective at my job when I do that.

I have apartments for rent, and deal with all kinds of people that I don’t put in my contacts. I hate sending everybody to voicemail. I just want to answer the damn phone every time it rings. I get so much more done that way, but the robo calls stop me from doing it.

Lol, I just answer my phone, I'm not a scared little bitch.

It literally takes me less than 2 seconds to say Hello and then hang up once I realize it's Marriott Hotels. 10 calls in a day wastes 20 seconds of my life. I don't see what the big deal is.
