Default SoCal fires

Anyone getting affected by the crazy fires around here?

CAL FIRE - California Statewide Fire Map

This is very close to my place, but still far enough where I don't have to really worry. But this is basically the view from my house. That area of the mountain was glowing most of the night. This morning I didn't see any more flames, but it was still very smoky.

If it got to me, it would have had to pass through several neighborhoods. Crazy stuff. First time I've actually seen the flames from my area.

I didn't take these, but this is just a few blocks from me.

This is about 2 minutes away, in the next neighborhood (the one that would have to get "hit" first before mine).

Posted on our local community forum. Stay safe everyone!

Multiple friends and co-workers evacuated due to the Holy Fire in Corona. Luckily no homes have been lost. It's up to 19,000 acres now. Friggin crazy!

all the northern california fires have made Reno air so bad lately. Advise us to not go outside type stuff. Can barely see the mountains that aren't even far away. Worst air quality in history it blows.

I live in Irvine.

I snapped these pics yesterday before it got dark. View from the train station.

Looking toward the area in my OP, but not at night.

This was the view of the sun.

Buddy's pic. Everything looks like an Instagram filter.

There's ash falling on us here in Chico from the Carr fire and the Mendocino fire. Haven't had clear skies since the fires started.

The Mendocino one is crazy. Hasn't that been going for like 3 weeks now? They said they expect it to go through August.

Those are some haunting photos. I remember when I was staying with my parents in 2011 and their neighborhood was evacuated as a wildfire approached and eventually burned decks near Boulder. I feel for anyone in the situation, especially for the 7 people who have already died :/

That guy better get charged with all counts of murder and get life in prison as a result. People who do that kind of destruction are the lowest of the low. I'm bordering the Pacific way in Northern Washington and it is insanely hazy.

I see flames from my doorstep as well (but also too far away to be at real risk). My house is quite smoky though. Had the smoke detectors go off multiple times. I ended up having to disconnect one cause it was going off so many times. Laid wet towels across all window panes and turned on all my vents, which helped with our indoor air quality slightly.
