Yeah.

dont trust the previous owner, look at your rear tire. brake lines need to be replaced every 4 years if rubber, 5 if SS, at least that’s what I was told.

dont you have a wet clutch?

tbh i have no idea. Also the rear tire is nearly new, confirmed by date stamp on sidewall, same as front.

its an illusion. What that is is the dust from my garage floor sticking to the rubber when i walked it into its parking spot. The ridges cut into the rubber are the same depth all the way around the tire.

I don't know who told you this but you do not need to replace your brake lines every 4 years. Inspect them, if they are in good shape don't worry about them. Rubber lines aren't going to break down in 4 years. Congrats on the bike, looks great. If you are mechanically inclined pop the fuel tank off, inspect the air filter and spark plugs, inspect all the fluids and replace whatever is required.

someone mentiomed on the harley forums, although really uncommon under normal use, sometimes the rear motor mount fails from excessively hard riding, stunting, wheelies, etc. I cant find much online about this, and most older posts (2011, 12, 13 etc) say its really rare. How would i inspect that? Would a visual say anuthing?

I just dont understand the buell haters though. Ive heard on other forums they are "junk".... like how so? Aside from the rumbling and bulmbling inherently unbalanced 45 degree vtwin, the bike offers a helluva lot of tech and engineering unique to the brand. Also, the braided brake lines came stock i am guessing? Just another small detail that shows eric cares about the quality of the bikes he produced. The weight distribution, easy to use ECM out of the box (no power commander needed like on other bikes), and a lot more i am sure i am forgetting.. like why the hate? I feel a lot of the haters just attribute the harley motor (even though its nowhere near the same) with unreliability and in their minds slap a "junk" label on the bike as a whole. Sure they are quirky, but i am beginning to understand this bike a bit better. Moat of the japanese/euro brands are just trying to outdo the competitor by 1%, which makes for a very boring and similar bike crop each year. But eric wanted to create a whole new bike from top to bottom, and some people dont like that.

sorry i sound like an edgy teen cuck by using the term "haters" over and over. But yeah i got the feeling these people just never tried them. Granted, the japanese inline 4 bikes are very refined, and well built, but they have this sterile feeling about them. Like its a performance machine and not a bit more. The buell just seems to have a character about it. I know personifying motorcycles is ******* stupid but maybe someone here can relate to what i am saying

Lol. Some kids in an early 2000s mustang gt tried to run me at a stoplight. I thought "eh what the hell, why not". Short shifted at 4k rpm and used half throttle and left em a couple lengths back by 60, when i got off the throttle. Damnit
