Of all the years I've went to and worked at VIR, I've never been to Hyperfest. Good to see that the spirit of GT Live is alive and well

Used to be at Summit Point the same weekend as the Lemons event. Now, both are off the schedule.

This event out grew Summit Point big time, I wish it was still there as a 45 minute ride is better than 5 hour but oh well!

Bet that'd be a cool job. Were you there for all the events or just the bigger ones? I just want back stage access to cool race car stuff.

The big races and club races. We got invited to work COTA and 24hr Daytona events as well. I had my .005 seconds of fame when I was on ESPN during the ALMS race.

I had only worked for NASA because of the free track time and was then asked to work for VIR. Obviously said yes for no other reason than getting in the races free and being close to the track. I got to drive on the track a lot. Not at speed, but close enough to get a lot of free practice in. It's fun but harsh. Worked in record heat and in the freezing rain and snow. Dangers are always there too.

I'm somewhat irritated with the promoter and VIR, the information for RV camping for this event is somewhat vague and I've called VIR 4 times and got different answers to the same question each time.
It's been annoying to say the least.

I've only had one problem with security and camping. Apparently some paperwork wasn't "processed correctly"

Cool confirmed! Wish I lived near a track the getting invited to COTA or Daytona would be badass. I'd do whatever it took to work a COTA F1 event

last Dell I bought was a total POS. I hope you have better luck.

Fans gave up after a few months and fried everything. Are they still using that crappy power plug design that gets loose from the cord hanging off it?

No clue. I read some reviews on Lenovo, ASUS, HP, and they weren't very convincing. The PC is going to be mainly used for WFH so it can't be a Mac.

Work laptops are Dell. Four-ish years at 9 hours a day, rock solid. But I use a docking station 99% of the time, can't really speak on long term use of the power brick.
