I thought of this as if I had any fleet of five cars, and only five....

New MDX - Family hauler

New TLX - Commuter, backup family hauler/wifey car

CRX - Already gots, turbo project #1

Need a clean EF hatch someday for turbo project #2 when #1 isn't running

And I guess if I needed a garage queen...

And yup, all in black preferably.

If money was no issue (Maintenance costs are a bitch) then it would be these five hands down.

Koenigsegg Agera RS

I don't think I agree with that one.

It's a nice car, but not a great car. It has some flaws, notably an SH-AWD system that is not as good as the 4G TL that it replaced.

Hey, so I'm a realist. I couldn't afford insurance on most of the cars posted, much less fluid changes or brake jobs....

1972 Porsche 916. I'd put this ahead of the 914-6 GT for general fun. Only 11 of these were made, and one of them went to Dr Porsche's sister Erma before she married Piech.

It looks like the typical Targa roof, but it's not. The G forces were significant enough that the tops are really welded steel to avoid the body flexing and breaking the rear strut mountings...sort of the same stress point that caused Honda to re-enforce the DC2 ITR's rear body.

1953 Bentley Continental Abbot Coupe. :-) Personal reasons. A weird, rare car that represents the best of the frame-on-body RR and Bentley models, with the addition of a high quality coach maker's touch.

1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner Coupe. The best looking American car, of all time. :-)

1981 Mercedes 600 (W100). Although it was introduced in 1963 and had ceased normal production long ago, Mercedes would still hand build one for you through 1981. I'd want one of these later ones to be sure the many hydraulic issues had been sorted, and because the no-torque converter transmission was better and tended not to jerk you around when it shifted.

1965 Porsche 356 SC Coupe. Just to have a car to drive around and get decent fuel economy.

:-)

That's it. No super cars, no drag monsters or race cars.

I sympathize with those of you picking the 904 and early 911's.

If I'd had more choices, there might be a couple of other Porsche on there.
