Did you go look at it? Cause the pics don't look bad at all. Even says it has a new roof. Just a lot of house for a third of what that would pull around here.

Yea we looked at it. Left thinking "there is probably 100k worth of repairs at minimum". Some people looking at the open house with us agreed. The ad is misleading with those pictures. The pool for example hasnt run like that picture in years.

Damn what a shame. Looks like it could be a super cool place. How does one neglect an investment like that. Makes no sense.

Probably a brainiac who thought they could afford the place due to low interest rates. Then 3 years later when the mortgage was due for renewal and the rated doubled or tripled they couldn't afford it anymore and bailed.

Whole damn state of NJ is like this. How else do you think local police and fire can roll around in 2016 Explorers while making 100k? teachers too.

If you are one of these professions and not in NJ, you need to move.

Im feeling this thread pretty hard, mrs. BBEK and I do fairly serious Montana home window shopping constantly.

hopeing to literally cash out of Cali in a couple years and buy a place cash.

Here is what $360k will get you in one of the most desirable areas in Montana:

239 Segiah Way, Kalispell, MT 59901 MLS #21606878 Zillow

Yea you get a huge house. But society sucks there. 85.5 octane gas. Gas stations double as casinos. People are semi-mentally handicap.

A decent house and crystal clear lakes and ski resorts and glacier national park and more public use land than you'll find anywhere else in the contiguous United States.

From what ive noticed in general the houses aren't very big, most people spend a lot of time outside. Most of the big fancier houses are ******* transplants from CA and other places who are more familiar with keeping up with the joneses.

Have you spent much time in flathead valley? I've met some great interesting folks, first comes to mind is my paleontologist/artist friend who is currently blowing up my Facebook feed with pics from Indonesia, an annual tradition for him.

They like their guns, but that doesn't mean that a majority of them aren't well rounded and educated.

I did meet some nice people. If you like hunting, the outdoors, and solidarity Montana is the place to be. I had some of the best steak ever there and it was cheap as hell to stay for a few weeks.

Glad to hear it wasn't all bad for you, I'm definitely going to do an insane amount of research and more visits before fully committing to our departure from the golden state. The idea of leaving what many consider the most desirable place in the country to move somewhere rough around the edges with a real winter is something very difficult to be sure about. I've been living the fast paced stressful congested Silicon Valley life for almost 20 years now and I've just about reached my limit. Such an extreme contrast probably isn't the most ideal change but I've already spent time there getting comfortable with the place and we have family and friends there.
