There will be another NWC Gray sale in the very near future. Guy showed up on NA a few moments ago claiming he has a $6k offer that he will accept on 5/23 if he doesn't have a higher offer. That offer is low so I can't wait to see what it sells for... though it will depend on condition of the label too.

When you find an original participant selling their cart, it tends to go higher. Kind of like a whole "one owner" used car sale. Should be interesting!

That's our office...and I have 2/3 of the room actually... I feel lucky that I was allowed to have that much space for my Saturn...I had it on my desk at my old apartment!

You both know me, I'm as thrifty as it gets. I'm not sure how many more CIB titles i'll be purchasing. I had my Saturn modded to play burned games a few months ago, and having a burned copy of the game in a DVD case looks just as good on the shelf as the original boxes do IMO...we'll see.

lol that Tetris was an inside joke. Robin Mahara was at a game convention 2 weekends ago and signed an autograph for that college kid. Kid promised he wouldn't be selling it or anything, just got it as a memento.

Robin saw it on eBay, so a bunch of people decided to shill it up for kicks. Poor taste IMO but funny result.

Bauley this one is for you, 22 Saturn CIBs:

Almost makes me want to start a Saturn collection, but I collect too many platforms as it is!

That batch should go for a good chunk of change...MMX4 is worth $75, RE probably $50, and Contra $100.

Contra's worth $100?!? Wow, I sold one for $30 back in Dec 2010. Sat for almost 48 hours at that price too. Now you see what I'm talking about with game values just jumping by leaps and bounds for no good reason.

http://www.segaage.com/forum/message...threadid=42632

However, mine was missing the 3D glasses, I hope that someone paying $100 would at least want those.

Most insane Video Game sale I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot:

Mario Is Missing VGA 80 SNES $10k+.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...vip=true&rt=nc

What makes this so insane is that this was an open auction, so two people were willing to pay that. The last one in February didn't even break $200:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...vip=true&rt=nc

And that looks like maybe an 80 to me as well. 80 is a very low grade, nothing I'd even want to own. Absolutely stunning sale.

Jonebone I have a question for you. How do Japanese versions of games factor into the market? The market over here is incredible in regards to the condition most items are kept in and while there are naturally rare games/items that go for a good bit of money they don't seem to go for THAT much.

Just a casual observation:

Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut was selling for about $60-$70 cart only this year. Sold one in February at $60, one in late April at $70.

About 5 to 6 weeks later, they now sell for $120-$150. I can't even explain how ridiculous some of these price jumps can be. Was a $40 cart 3 years ago and then goes from $60 to $150 in less than 2 months. Games can get hyped up just like the stock market these days.

The analogy would be that NES = vintage comics from the Golden years, while Wii / DS would be your 90s era comics....

Anyways, HUGE haul today. I found a guy who was at a local Goodwill that got a ton of Minty NES / GB games. Stuff looks MINT as hell too, can't wait for it to arrive by the end of the week! Complete in box Mint Gameboy games are unbelievably difficult to track down.

Makes me wish I had some foresight as a kid and kept my boxes and manuals.

I still kick myself for selling my SNES collection in high school, I figured that I has a Playstation, why would I ever want to play those games again? Had so many full games in perfect condition, now I'm very slowly building it back.

i still had final fantasy 3 for SNES with the box and manual up until a few years ago....think it was 2003-2004 it sold for 70 on ebay. can only wonder what it's worth now

Demand is through the roof lately. I'd say the entire collector pool of retro games has at least doubled or tripled within the past 2-3 years. You aren't alone!

If it's Minty, probably $150-$200. Complete in box games don't skyrocket, they tend to appreciate like a normal blue chip stock would. Slow and steady growth. Sealed games on the other hand, the supply is so tiny that they can go from $1000 to $10,000 overnight if new moneybag collectors show up. It happens, I've seen it firsthand.

I pay well if you do! Believe me it would be worth your time.

Just as a teaser pic from my latest haul to show their condition:

Check eBay for NES Little Samson... all that is available are carts in the $400-$450 Buy It Now range. I put the value of this one at about $800-$1000 Complete and Mint. I'll find out soon enough because it is actually a duplicate for me and I'll flip it to almost pay for the entire find itself.
