Used to skate for about 10 years. Haven't skated for about 5 years and played SKATE with an old buddy. We got to S to S, and were stuck after that. We couldn't land anything!

We went from doing Nollie Big Flips and Disco Flips to looking like a new born giraffe trying to Ollie.

Does anyone remember who made the early 2000s decks with a drag ek civic, a white r34 and maybe 1 or 2 other cars in the series? I can't figure it out with google and I've wanted that series since I first saw them in a shop back in 2000-2003.

I put this deck together but haven't ridden it yet, never was any good at tricks. Everything but the deck is brand new from 2003. Flip sidecuts wheels, lucky black beauties, destructo trucks, Shorty's Silverados.

A lot of the old school cats are still riding in my area. I've had the pleasure of shooting nine holes of golf and eating dinner afterwards with him.

guy who bumped this old thread:

socal skateshop is generally what i use for get my skate stuff. been using them for years and they are great.

i like them because they have what i need, ship fast, are fair with pricing and are skater owned. it's a real skate shop that has just happened to parlay things into a really strong online presence.

for off the wall decks that socal doesn't have, i will rarely use tactics or similar. situations i use them are like, if i am trying to complete a series or something.

for certain specialized things, like certain bushings i use because of my size and riding style, i have a few smaller outlets i use online that lean more toward long boarding and thus have a wider range of things LIKE bushings, but socal gets the majority of my business.

the only local shops we have around here anymore are surf shops and they typically don't have the stuff i want or use. they keep a lot of long board nonsense in stock and for street stuff, it's the basics that usually lean toward small, hard wheels and trucks/decks that are for smaller people/tech. i used to order some stuff through one of them as the manager is a great friend of mine, but it was harder to return **** with them than it was with socal, so now i only pick up stuff locally when there is an extreme sale or blowout.

i used to skateboard all back in highschool. I've actually been thinking about getting cheap board just to mess around on. I'm too old and too fat to do anything crazy, just miss riding around on them. I think what really got me thinking about getting on a board again was a project i worked on at work not long ago and another one we just got recently. For both we teamed up with a skatepark designer and we do all of the site engineering to get the skatepark to fit the site. The Tony Hawk foundation was involved with the first one, it was really cool to be a part of. Im such a dork too... i asked Tony Hawk to autograph my design plan, its hanging up at my desk at work lol.

Kinda want to build up a new deck again. How dumb is that for a 31 year old goober?

This started with one of those burton decks with the mini ski on it in my buddies garage. Grabbed it and stuck a kick flip on my first try lollin

No way man, I still skate at 36. Nothing like I use to but it makes me not feel as old.

haha yeah, when I go back to my hometown I'll often go around and look at the garbage spots I spent countless hours at. We weren't lucky enough to have a park. It's pretty tight that 20 years later it's much more acceptable and there's one everywhere.

Same here. When I visit the parents in Texas, I always go back to a spot we all called The Wonton. Gaping that was like a right of passage in our town and I never was able to do it.

I had brand new parts for a deck for almost 15 years before I finally bought one a couple years ago and assembled it, only for looks but oh well. Would really love a NOS darkstar board though. I forget who made the boards with the drag R34 GTR and drag EG hatch on them but those are collector's pieces I'm looking for as well.

Nothing major luckily. Somehow growing up I never broke anything. I skated, did a little
bmx, played soccer, snowboarding and raced motocross for several years.

did get my first break from mountain biking 6 or so years ago. Smanapped my collarbone off a narrow rolling hill leading into a large jump.

Growing up, the nearest skatepark was 30min away.

Now I am 38, and I have two amazing parks within 10 mins. No justice!

In middle school we had a skate club. One of the younger science teachers at the time started it. Right after school a bus would pick us up and take us to an indoor skate park. Was awesome

Broken ankle, freak accident on something relatively easy. But I was a bit fat that summer and shouldnít have been jumping down stuff.

Either way, itís at 2:55íish

It's fun to look down and see the Corkscrew from MRLS in your leg.
