Not you, another e-thugger on the first page.

I practiced practical wing chun. Although I was interested in learning JKD and wing chun in formal style, the class was taught to defend yourself against attackers and to basically protect your loved ones. It was fun...I loved the class, the people, couldn't be in a better class.

CHeck out this site guys
http://www.tigermuaythai.com/

This is a Muay Thai training camp located in Phuket. Check out the prices and the pictures....I'm actually considering this trip. If a group goes together, there is a reduction in the package price.

There is a special deal on that site that goes as follows:
For $375, you get

One Month Deluxe Bungalow & Training
15000 Baht = $375

I found this quote from the FAQ section quite amusing:

"Can I really have a Thai girlfriend?

Yes, many of our students get Thai girlfriends to stay and take care of them while training at the gym. You are not training every second of the day, so it is nice to have a Thai girlfriend for a trip to the beach or for a massage. The Thai women are great at taking care of their boyfriends and can help you while you are in Phuket. Check out our Entertainment Zone link for more information on Thai bargirls and escorts. "

I would like to start taking some form of martial arts training again. When I was younger I took a few months and ju-jitsu and like a month of tae kwon do (sp?) but haven't done any since.

I live out in the burbs though I don't think I could find anyone serious and not a rip-off either.

I never really liked Overeem, he always seemed really cocky to me. I thought Igor was going to knock him out, he has so much power in his punches... oh well
When I was watching the clip I was like Nogueira fought twice??? But then I rememberd he had a twin brother haha

I take "kickboxing" .. but it's more or less a mixture of Savate, Westernized Boxing and Muay Thai. A lot of conditioning and self defense. We work on combinations and conditioning our body to last longer periods of time. I've dabbled into grappling and 'wrestling' a bit, but not too much.

Took a couple classes with kendo sticks and staffs, but I stopped that.

If I remember the documentry I saw about development of martial arts, Savate was not in any relation to muay thai or any kind of thai style.
It was the English who saw asian people incorporting kicking into their fighitng, which they in turn spread the word when they returned to europe and then the french began developing savate.
The videos they showed of early savate mathces however, (this is just an opinion *prepares flame suit*) looked really GH3Y, maybe cause it's French =P.
Over the years Savate had it's popularity on the rise in France but soon faded from the lime light. As far as I am aware of today there is a small lingering presence of savate still aroundto keep the art alive.
(I was bored)
