Damn cool.

But a traditional altimeter, airspeed and heading gauge would be nice. Just in case the whole damn screen goes blank

I also arm the ejector seat during my pre-flight checks just in case.. you know, those things called mistakes.

Fixed. Have always loved Phantoms. The AF ones, not the no gun Navy version. The F-4 was the first jet model I built.

It's an instrument which tells you in feet per minute, how quickly you are ascending or descending. You can definitely get away without it during VFR, but not having something to reference against my altimeter during IFR would make me nervous as ****.
