They should have done a two part. Continue the race to 1/2 mile to see what changes.

Yay for the Porsche Turbo S. It actually launched harder than the Tesla in the first 30-60 feet.

Looks like no contest if you have a Tesla for driving around in town. You're king.

Only place it had a chance with those heavy weights. Honestly shocked by the cayman. Power to weight must still be a thing huh.

Beat the 'vette that has 110 more hp. How much does the GS weigh? Cayman should be right around 3000lbs (718 got heavier vs the 981).

Drive one first. Engine sounds like butt, but it makes good torque.

Thats a nice six-figure sports car you got there.

Would be a shame if some granola-munching family sedan...

**** all over it.

They said the runway is 15,000 feet long, then why on earth only go 1,320 feet? Lets get some top speed runs going!

Probably means tesla spent the most on "advertising"

You can pretty much ignore the video in regards to trying to minutely gauge the differences between cars. They use numerous runs compiled together and then simply edit together a version that ends up best matching the times they got. If you go back and watch you'll see the Tesla murdering everything off the line in one shot then magically the Porsche is launching beside it during the next couple of quick edits.

Based on the 1/4mi time compared to the trap speeds we can pretty well assume that on the best run the Tesla had to have murdered everything off the line.

Yea turbo motors do that well, but I also hate turbo motors since I don't drag race

If I was buying a porsche to drag race sure I'd want PDK, however 1 second in a drag race is a big deal, 1 second lost in a 2 minute road course matters much less. It's more fun plain and simple. Until I am worried about .00001 in F1 qualifying a manual puts a bigger smile on my face.
