Default Married gents...groomsmen question

What the hell did you give them? What did y'all do prior to the wedding? I'm trying to get some ideas for something fun to do. I don't really want a bachelor party. I was thinking about taking everyone skydiving. *shrug*

I'd like to here about what you did...again, getting some ideas.

- gifts?
- activities?

Danke -

Honestly? A good bottle of liqour if they drink (Preferably VSOP Cognac), good Cigars if they smoke and don't drink, and if they don't do either they didn't get a damn thing.

I gave my groomsmen engraved flasks with good scotch and a great cigar along with a gift certificate to a HPDE at the local track.

I wish my friend thought on the same lines as you did, but I did get golf clubs and a couple rounds at his country club.

Im not married but I have been one of the groomsmen numerous times. So far I have received some rounds of golf at nicer courses, a pimp pair of Adidas which were worn during the ceremony and a flask with booze in it.

When I got married I gave each of my groomsmen a pair of solid black low top Chuck Taylors to wear with their tuxes, a flask with their nickname engraved on the front and a message on engraved on the back, and a bottle of their favorite liquor to fill the flask with since our wedding was beer and wine only.

I was a groomsmen in the wedding for a friend of mine and he gave me an amazing bottle of whiskey that cost around $100.

Um and you do realize that your best man is supposed to plan the Bachelor party and that you get no say in the matter whatsoever right?

I know I not married, or a gent... and haven't been a groomsen before...

However, I think a nice solid pocket watch with their initials on it could be kind of neat.

My roommate got his groomsmen pocket watches, and I thought they looked really nice actually.

But hey, what would I know?

When I got married I got my groomsmen 7oz stainless flask with their initials engraved and they were all filled with Booker's. We spent a day playing golf and getting smashed, it was a good time.

Skydiving would be awesome!

One buddy gave us a small pocket/keychain knife with our names ingraved on it. Still have it.

Another one gave us a Leatherman Wave with our names ingraved on it. Still have and use it. I liked both those gifts. Cool and useful. Never know when you'll need to shank a foo

Since they took all the good ones, I gave them a large mug (ingraved). Very cliche', but I'm not the most creative when it comes to gifts.

Skydiving sounds like a great idea to me. Something fun, and something you will NEVER forget.... if ya live.

I would have LOVED a nice pocket watch as a gift when I was a groomsman.. but we didn't get ****. My brother and I paid to fly down to Texas to be in this wedding, had to pay for a hotel, food, etc. and all we got was a 'thanks'. FFFffffUUUuuu!!!!!

You are an ***! A nice pocket watch would be baller. I'd like that more than a cigar and/or alcohol.

I don't think it would be corny at all. Not sure if they'd use them, or if they're wallet guys. I've always wanted to try a money clip, but never had much to put in it. A wallet leaves more to assumption

He just likes to live in the moment, no sense of nestalgia.

Now that I think about it, I really should have got my groomsman a lot more. They ALL but one of them missed the whole reseption, as they where holding down a drunk psycho in the hotel room. They got punched, kicked, etc. Weddings, what a hoot.

I've received an engraved metal mug/stein that I used all the time until it went missing and a big dose of unappreciative NOTHING after saving our idiot friend's wedding

Thanks, Josh. Much appreciated, buddy
