Default Looking for a TV

Someone please change thread title to “TV”, it might just help someone

Been doing a ton of obsessive research over the last few days. Basically found the jackpot.

vizio p65-e1 refurb at walmart for $699

It’s 65”, and about the best quality picture you’re going to possibly get without going to oled. Its one of those tv when you walk into best buy you’re like damnnnn, probably cant afford that ****.

Released in 2017 and had an msrp of $2k, here it is for $699. Already placed my order.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbish...5-E1/741647238

The 2018 model they released, the p65-f1, is the same thing but has a couple things that are not as good, so the 2017 model is actually better.

nowhere can you buy a 65” 120hz native refresh rate TV for under $1k

Stay away from VIZIO or Samsung. Vizio's aren't any better than that crap HISENSE Walmart sells. As for Samsung, you're paying for the name, nothing more. Reliability is subpar compared to other brands such as LG. At my workplace, we've had so many that stopped working and they are barely used/turned on.

I've installed plenty of LG, Vizio, and Samsung TVs. I'm just speaking from experience dealing with them. Take it as you like. I wouldn't waste money on Vizio or Samsung.

its like e1 has like 120 local dimming zones vs 100 for f1, and something else minor

I was basically just pointing out that you’re not losing anything by going with a 2017 model

how do you like your tv?

They're not though. MOST electronic companies source from China but some have their electronics built in other countries such as Japan. Panasonic is one of them which is why I'm a loyal customer with the company

If you don't care about any of that then we can't suggest a tv for you. My best suggestion is to go to a store that sells TV's and look at them all. Find what looks best to you. No one can tell you what you like visually other than you.

This is just some real world info about brands from a friend that buys, repairs and resells tv's. His shop is FULL of Samsung tv's. Sure with the amount they pump out you will most likely not have an issue but your chances of something going wrong are higher with this brand compared to other big brand names.

I second this. Person I know bought one and has had nothing but problems.

Weird because I to have a vizio and it's been good. Except for some reason the buttons sunk into the TV.

I have 3 vizios

1 samsung

1 sony

1 Hisense

1 TCL

1 Westinghouse

I had to tighten a connection on the samsung, but other than that they've all been problem free

there you have it folks

for $699 + $99 for 4 year protection plan, you can get a better TV, spend a $100 less, and have a 3 year longer warranty than the shopping king of middle earth

going to see if walmart can ship trophies out with their TV’s

you do have a smaller bezel, but mine is all metal

TV with metal frame just says “look at me, I’m expensive and high quality because I’m made of metal when I could be made of plastic”
