Default Let's talk about hair loss and prevention

Especially for us in our 40's or late 30's have you done anything to help hair growth or prevent hair loss? I still have most of my hair, but it's thinning especially at the top of my head. I was looking at Propecia which is recommended to stop hair loss and then there's Rogaine which helps hair growth. I'm not really looking to promote hair growth, I really just want to maintain what I already have. I'm a bit worried about side effects, but I would be willing to try it. Anyone here use these products? If so, how are the results? Are you happy with what it does?

Believe in what? The products or just the notion of stopping hair loss?

I'm 27 and have noticed my hair thinning for the past couple of years. Last May I heard about Hims, jumped through their hoops, and have been using their prescription hair kit since then. It turned my **** around, significantly. I'll have to see if I have pics from then to compare to now. Finasteride (generic propecia), biotin gummies, monoxidil (rogaine), and a dht-blocking shampoo, and it's super easy.

Any significant side effects? When something plays with testosterone I think that maybe libido or other things might not work as well.

I haven't noticed any side effects. They mentioned that libido might drop off, but no problems there lol.

I believe there are quite a few non biased studies that have been done to show that they actually do work. Believe me, I am weary of the results as well, but I think these products are legit.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have released the results of a survey that found that men who have shed their hair are more attractive.

I suggest minoxidil for your beard. Slather a cap full where needed and let your face soak it in until DRY. you will have crusty skin so bring moisturizer to work. Apply castor oil before bed. The key to both is applying a lot and letting your face absorb them.

I read this works well but like most products here,it's mainly to thicken the follicles as opposed to generating new. If you want new growth do the fue hair restoration system

Mine is starting to thin. Part of me wishes I could just rock the bald look but I'd look like a complete idiot

This is awesome to hear though. I've always wanted to try products but have always heard that sometimes you thin out more before the stuff starts to work and that FREAKS me out lol

Wife keeps telling me to try something but I'm too nervous lol

I did the Rogaine thing for a few years, didnít seem to make a difference. My hair first started thinning 10 years ago, and a year or two back I started buzzing it once a week without a guard. Also grew a beard/mustache. No regrets. Overall itís less maintenance than having hair and shaving my face every morning.

Hims and programs similar are great for maintaining and stopping hair loss, as well as thickening up what you have. Its all about getting to it early and being proactive, rather than waiting until you see light spots.

With that said I started balding around 20 and have been shaving my head since 22. I dont regret it one bit, doing that whole program just seems like such a pain vs shaving it off once a week. Granted, I know people that are older and more attached to their hair have a harder time letting it go.
