Guys, I DD my Integra less than 5K miles a year. I drive it to work a couple times a week in the summer, maybe 3 times a week in winter. Other days I cycle commute year round. And yes I've driven Miatas before (friend in college owned several), but it's been awhile. Been doing plenty of research already, and any shifter sloppiness I'm sure can be addressed by a 5X Racing shifter refresh kit with the bronze lower bushing.

I don't do long drives in the Integra anymore like I used to. Use the wife's car for that. But with a drop-top I think it would be a nice alternative when we go out if the weather is nice, besides driving her CUV everywhere.

Can't wait to hear the stories about the tire kickers and $500 offers.

Can you keep the gsr and get a miata? 3-4k NBs are a dime a dozen. Unmolested GSRs will be very hard to find in a few years

Believe me I wish I could. But I just don't have the space or funds, or even the desire really, to keep 3 cars around with registration, maintenance, repairs, insurance, etc. I drive the GSR so little these days that it really makes no sense to have both.

Who knows, a Miata might be just the thing I need to try AutoX again. Took the GSR out a few times to Memphis and Nashville SCCA events back in the early 00's, but haven't been out since then.

Do what ever you can to try the miata while still keeping the GSR (dont sell away and then buy if possible)

Drive both extensively then make a decision.

About to turn 370K actually. Yeah it's high miles, but more importantly the car is straight, pretty much unmolested, with zero frame damage and zero rust.

Holy fawk. So what are you tring to get for it? $800? $1000?

Sold my 215k mile SE for $600. Would have gotten more, but my hard brake and fuel lines rusted through from sitting, and refused to sell it to anyone that didn't.... Bring A Trailer! Honestly, I probably could have gotten more, but the buyer was a Lemons racer and I negotiated to do a race in the car once it's transformation is complete.

the problem is that people looking for a well sorted, taken care of car, aren't going to spend good money on something with 370k miles

Post it on Craigslist.

Prepare to punch your face when dealing with craigslisters.

Take it to CarMax.

Then after a week, somebody will hit you with your catch price.

When I sell my car, I am going to say bone stock except: and then list the huge amount of modifications, hahaha

Will put trades welcome so I can see how many random things I could get for pure enjoyment.

Only way I am going in an na/nb is a k or j swap, but by the amount of money i would put into that swap, I should have just bought an s2000...

It's funny when idiots (to be fair, not in this thread) on GDD spout BS like S2000's aren't fun to drive but yeahhhh the NA and NB's I've driven were terrible.
When the bushings are done on a miata, I think they shift fine in day to day driving, but even then I always had issues with the 2-3 up shift on miatas during some faster speed autocrosses, can't seem to smoothly get into 3rd gear. my friend sort of figured it out but every so often he'll go into 5th gear.

so apparently for older cars, it's better to just apply for a Signature Loan through my credit union, but those rates start at 7%.

Not sure if I should, because it feels like I'm taking a gamble on my car selling, which I'm sure it will just don't know for how much.

Only reason why I'm thinking about it is because I found a couple of decent 99-00 cars, both about 2 hours away from me but in opposite directions from each other, and I'd like to check them out if they're still available.

So what about the actual transaction? I assume that carrying around 5 G's in my pocket probably isn't the best idea.

Paypal gift, cashiers check, certified check

7% on a 5k loan ends up being like $29/month - or about $20 more per month than a 2% rate.

In a perfect world you negotiate the price before you get the check. Easier to negotiate with cash.

You right, 7% on a loan that small is hardly anything. Wasn't thinking about that.
