Default Instant short shifter (Tech forum WAy too slow !)

*I am posting this here due to the Tech forum always being too slow and I always need answers right away ! *

92 Hatch, B16A2, Cable tranny.
So, I was leaving work this morning, and there was this chick ahead of me. She was in a prelude. As we exited the parking lot we both got on it in 1st. (BTW I could have EASILY passed her).

Anywho, When I went to shift into 2nd, The shifter just dropped. It dropped low like I put a short shifter in there. I was like WTF?

I pulled it up and stuck it in 2nd, went into gear and I continued home while holding the shifter up in between shifts.

I parked in front of my house, shut the car off, put in to N, and let go. BONK ! it just dropped.

I all ready needed a new clutch because it was real mushy feeling...now its worse. But I dont know if this is related to the clutch.

Thanks !

OMG !! this is off of my own topic !

I was eating cheese and crackers. I ran out of crackers so I started pouring cheese in my mouth. (KRAFT Easy Cheese) and the it ran out and gave me a fat cheese money shot to the back of the throat ! LMFAO ! Scared the **** outta me and made me choke !

The same thing happened to me. The simple fix for this is to jack the car and put a washer on the bolts that hold the shifter up. The problem is that the bolt heads are not holding the rubber bushing up enough. This will work, or at least hold you until you get a new bushing
