Default Hopsy Beer Sub and Torp

Anybody heard of this? afwife just got this for me for fathers day. Came with a bunch of different local beers. According to google you can refill the "torpedoes" which is awesome because I read that the replacement ones are asspensive.

Googling now

edit: cool concept and design but the $18 a tube for effectively a 6 pack refill is steepish. Not horrible but a little on the high side to justify buying one.

Looks like a solution in search of a problem. You can get pressurized growlers, which would be the same basic thing with a vastly wider beer selection.

Definitely a cool idea..... The fact that it has it's own refrigeration system is a win for me, so you don't have to stuff it in the fridge, plus no c02 probably means low maintenance.

For 200$ though, you can get a kegerator at an estate sale, and have wayyyyyyy more beer. Cool fathers day gift though.

Whose money was spent?

Hers? No complaints.

Mutual account? Save it for another time.

Yours? File for divorce.

Yeah and they work great. The problem is not everybody around here in Raleigh is willing to fill them. Everybody is all progressive and earth cautious, but you have to buy their growler. And it's not a health code issue either, just another money grab to get you to come back to their brewery since you've already invested in their hunk of glass.

I've had mixed luck at bottle shops; however, Whole Foods has been consistent across the board with willingness to fill a customer's container.

cool idea, for $50 ill put one in my office.

I feel like these would be better if they were 1.5-2 gallons per torpedo. I'm 100% sure my local brewies would refill the torpedoes no problem. edit: looks like you have to refill them yourself or buy their $18 per torpedo/6 pack

I feel like a growler is a viable solution too...perhaps?

Ah, didn't think about that. Lowe's used to fill anything you brought as long as they could run it through the wash first

So what's the scoop on torpedos, do you send them back? can they be refilled?

edit: Nevermind, they won't ship to Raleigh.

what’s the point if you fill the torpedoes yourself? srs question. why not get crowlers/growlers from wherever you’re having them filled?
