Default Have people forgotten that the USA is about the people

Every thread talks about the gov't giving us rights. They dont give us rights. "WE THE PEOPLE ESTABLISH" our rights. Yes, there are times we sacrifice rights in order to remain safe. ie, everyone must drive on the right side of the road. We cant walk up to people and kill them. This ensures that people wont walk up to us and kill us, etc, etc. My examples are primary and not too in depth.

As my teacher states, "If the people didnt want to gov't to exist, the gov't wouldnt exist"
When he said the gov't he wasnt refering to President Bush. He was refering to gov't. And of course, 1 person nor 1,000,000 persons equates to "the people"

If this doesnt make sense, i apollogize, its early

sacrifice rights?? to kill somebody in anger or drive on the wrong side of the road?? those my friend are no rights, that is stealing (from others)

Living in America isn't a right either, it's a privledge, you can succeed in almost anyway you want here, and get an abundance of help from the government in doing so.

(is so sick of hearing people bitch about living in the best country on earth)

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

We established all that

Where did i complain about living in America?

no where, hence the statement not being directed at you and put into parenthesis, as a side thought. You're whole post gives the idea that you are not satisfied with our current government or your current rights, you need to elaborate on your thoughts to get better feed back.

I am glad to see a post that supports our government. Everyone tends to forget that our government is elected by us and that they represent us.

Not true (for citizens). Just by virtue of being a US Citizen, one is entitled to live here. I'm not sure how you figure otherwise.

Everyone tends to forget that our government is elected by us and that they represent us.
Unless you happen to be a member of any of the following parties: Libertarian, Green, Socialist, Independent, Facist, etc. The government is rarely elected by them or representative of their idealogy.

I'm saying it based on the fact that you are luckily born here in the US and not in some 3rd world or socialist country. You can't pick you place of birth and you aren't garunteed to be born in the US, so it isn't a right, it's a privledge.
