Default FUUUUUU..Water in Gas Tank

I filled my car up this morning since I was on empty. I pulled out of the gas station and made it a quarter mile down the road and then the car started misfiring. So I limp the car home 2 miles, then have it towed to my Honda Dealer. They call me 8 hours later telling me that not only does my car have about 5-6 gallons of water in my tank but so does about 5 other cars. We all bought our gas from the same place. So the Gas Station (wawa) gives me some beat *** pamphlet with a customer service number, so I call. The CSR rep says their phones have been ringing off the hook all day and about 80-100 people have the same problem from the same Gas Station.

They say it could take 3-4 weeks for some kind of resolution. I tried getting a hold of my insurance company but they are out of the office until tomorrow morning. Is this something that auto insurance would cover? I have full coverage. The repair bill is estimated at 1100 dollars.

Hmm so you mean cars can't run off water?

What happened to the motor that needs to be fixed, I'm genuinely curious lol

Water won't compress. You try, and it'll bend rods and explode pistons.

the fuel system needs to be cleaned out, and the gas tank dropped. injectors need to be serviced, new plugs etc....

That sucks at least you were smart and didn't continue to try to drive. What kind of car?

Are you sure the water got up into the fuel system? Most gas fuel pumps don't have the strength to pick up water, thus the misfiring.

A diesel, that has 30K psi at the injectors, has a fuel/water separator for a reason, because the fuel pumps have the power to suck up water.

Its covered under your comprensive coverage on your auto policy. You pay your deductible and your insurance company goes after the gas station for reimbursement.

..............

The water can only hydrolock the engine. It doesn't have the .0001's" clearances as a Powerstroke 6.0, 6.4, or 6.7L diesel (which you;d have to replace the whole fuel system for a few drops of water....

Reminder to always choose the quality gas stations. Nothing but Shell 93 octane touches my motors, lowest ethanol content and cleanest gas.
