Default focus/Fiesta st info thread

There are a few of us with an ST on here. I believe there are also several people on the fence about one due to their great power per dollar ratio.

Anyone willing to admit they are on the fence? If you own one, post some pics and bs about it. To me it was the best 25k new car + warranty available. Sure you can buy a used car that's faster, more luxurious or better looking. For 25k and new I believe this is the "fun" car to have.

The only thing I'm confused on is why even "built" focus st make moderately low numbers. Mines all stock and will remain that way for a while.

Edit: in for the neon srt4.2 crowd

I'm on the fence between the Fiesta ST and the Focus ST

Every review I've read about the Fiesta has praised it for the fun factor of driving

The Focus would be a bit more room and also the potential for more power than the Fiesta

I'm waiting to hear more info about the Fiesta RS before investing any form of currency towards any of them

Also "built" Focus ST's make decent power I don't know what you're on about.

Taken from a member on focusst.org:

2014 Focus ST
MBRP o/r downpipe
Upgraded FMIC fabbed my Panda
Turbosmart 50/50 BOV
K&N cone filter
Tuned by Panda

274.5/352.5 on a mustang dyno

INB4 Ford should have put shittier tires on it or else it would never compete with a 1990 CRX HF

INB4 its only good for drag racing because GDD only cares about straightline speed and magazine numbers and not that unbridled driving experience of breaking loose prius tires

SRS doe Pinja I was looking at the Fiesta too and I feel like the price difference isn't worth it in my eyes, it seems like the difference ends up being 2-3k and I would rather have the benefits of the Focus for the difference

INB4 we all agree that the new Si is a pile of **** but you should buy it anyways because Honda makes a "good car"

Most of the Fiesta ST owners I've talked to/read posts on forums said they bought them because the car felt nimbler than the Focus and a lot more tossable

Even with bolt ons the Fiesta makes good power as well. Not on Focus levels but we'll see what the RS model has in store

I feel like the Fiesta is more in the spirit of the segment we're all on this forum for

The RS will no doubt be amazing. I wouldn't wait for it unless you're willing to drop at least 35k on one. Dealer markup will probably be in effect too if you can find one. For around 25k you can have a focus st tomorrow. Now if it were a 3500 difference like the gsr compared to the itr then that's something to consider as the upgrade is huge.

What does that matter? Any cheap car brand will have some unsavory owners. Answer me this. What car would you buy as a dd if you want some power, decent mpg, 25k and a warranty? The only cars that match the st cost a decent bit more.

I like that Ford is bringing the RS here. Don't like it enough for 40K. I have asked Ford for a Fiesta RS tho. Wish we got the three door Fiesta ST here.

You should know this by my white knighting. If the CTR wasn't potentially on the horizon, and if there was 6 feet less snow on the ground, I'd probably already have replaced my Civic with a new Si.
Si is so utilitarian. The focus st has some decent power which was one of my criteria. If I wanted only reliability I'd buy a corolla.
You seem so sure that the st will start falling apart by 50k miles like an srt4. Old habits die hard I get that. No one has an unkind word to say about the new mustang, but a focus st is viewed on the same level as a Daewoo for some reason.

In 1989 a guy could buy a sporty crx si. People mocked him for his jap crap car and said it would fall apart and to buy American. That guy could still be enjoying his 26 year old honda. This isn't your dad's ford focus.
