Get back to me in 3 weeks for confirmation, but we did a lot of searching around for a good all-adult place where I could bury my face in the dirt and the reviews are insane.

That's either a staged photograph or photoshop.

Take that same beach, throw in a couple hundred homeless panhandlers, kids selling worthless ****, with trash all over the place and that's what you'll really see. When you arrive, exchange precisely $100 USD into local currency (Riels) and ask for the lowest denomination (100). If you want anymore than $100, you'd better bring a wheel barrow to carry it. Use the 100khr notes to pay off the swarming fleets of beggars; do not give more than 100khr because there are at least 50,000 beggars in Kampong Som which is the area you posted. Use USD to pay for everything else.

Have fun in Scambodia.

I went to Thailand during the Tsunami and it was a similar affair, but I remained in coach because so few people were on the plane that everyone in coach got an entire row to themselves.

If I were you, I'd go to Borocay in the Philippines because everyone is avoiding that country right now due to the Duterte death squads. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a flight for under $500.

Aaaaaaand Mexico is always a cheap option, but I ******* hate Mexican food, Mexican music, and Mexican people , so I don't usually suggest it.
this ******* guy. good tip btw

The pic is from Koh Rong Sanloem which is an island about a 45 min boat ride from mainland Kampong Som. Everything else you've said seems to be true from what I've read lol.

45 minute boat ride with a white person taking you or a Cambodian? If it's a Cambodian, then that probably means it's 3 miles away.

It's 14mi from the nearest point of land, 16mi from the docks. Population of only about 300 people.

I remember reading about the place. IIRC, an Australian or American couple built it on a 99 year land lease (foreigners not allowed to own land in Crapbodia). If it's the place I'm thinking of, it was opened after my last visit there.

It's probably nice then, but I still expect some sort of BS to take place. The only redeeming quality I can say of that area is that you can buy lobsters for a buck a piece.
