Default Falsely Report someone else's car as stolen?

Can you report some else's car as stolen even though it isn't? For example I find some random car on the street, get the license plate number and report it stolen? What would happen if the owner of the car was then driving around in their own car and a cop pulls them over because the car was reported stolen, would the person get arrested and or have the car impounded? I was thinking that if someone really got vindictive, they could just report a spouse's car stolen despite them actually owning the car, causing them to get arrested all for nothing..

Quoted and I pulled your IP and I'm fwding this to your local PD, you are admitting a pretty serious crime here.

I'm guessing 5-10 in fed for this little stunt kid.

reporting false information is a felony. Falsely reporting someone else's car stolen is incredibly stupid as all they have to do is check the DMV registration information.

If you are going to accuse someone of a false crime at least make it so that innocence can't be proven so easily.

You see there is this thing you carry around with you called "Registration." It proves your car is yours. Also your insurance has your name and vin number on it.

Seriously, are you a bit slow?

Can I report your internet connection stolen so they come to your house and shut it off so you stop polluting GDD with the most retarded threads I've ever seen?

How would that make any ****ing sense to you? You own the car, you have the registration and insurance card in your glovebox, and you get pulled over. The plates come back with your name on it, and the paperwork has your name on it. Your license matches up to all of them and you are obviously the ****ing owner of the vehicle you're driving. How on earth could you possibly get in trouble for that?

This is seriously hurting my head and making me want to punch something. You're either ****ing retarded or you're the worst troll I've ever seen.

Or they could just off themselves with a knife or something with the spouses fingerprints on it. Let me know how it goes.

I was thinking about that, it should be an open and shut case but it feels like there is some ******* cop out there that would have arrested the owner of the car anyway and make them go through all of that bullshit for nothing. Just like that girl who got arrested for swearing on the 911 call because the ******* cop on the other end wouldn't get over the fact she swore instead of just sending an ambulance like she requested.

stop making stupid threads. if they get pulled over for a stolen car all they'd have to do is show their license/reg to the officer to prove ownership. back on your merry way.

oh yea. stop making stupid threads.

But then the cop would ask why is the car reported stolen, you say I don't know, he gets suspicious, you lean over to show more proof that you own the car, he sees a black thing in the glove box, pulls out his gun and shoots you in the back of the head. All because you had a green peace sticker on your bumper.

Wow, you live in a fantasy world, a really sad and lonely one. Was your mother a heavy drinker when she carried you?
