Default Drove a c63

So I convinced my brother in law to buy a c63 a couple years ago. I did a VIN check and it was built just after they fixed the head stud problem. I been meaning to drive it for like 2 years now since I've never actually driven an amg before. He just bought a new a6 3.0 and is trading this in over the weekend. So I took his keys from him and ripped on it for about an hour.

The sound it makes is ******* nuts, completely stock exhaust. The sound alone makes this car.

The main reason I'm making this thread was because I could not believe how similar the experience was to a '16 camaro SS. The powerband, acceleration, handling, fit and finish, chassis, and transmission all felt like I was in the camaro. Camaro definitely handled better when pushed. They were both similar at 8/10'ths though.

So basically if you want a new version of a $70k mercedes hotrod from 2011, buy a camaro.

I love the way these look and sound. But no manual.

Would have bought over Evo if it was stick.

Because those ISF have 100k miles now, and have only needed oil changes during that entire period, which cost $60 DIY. The oil change on my wife's non AMG costs $260 and is not DIY without an evac machine

But I also find the 2012+ much better than the first gen C63.

I saw a bit of steam coming from the engine bay as well, 90k miles

its a damn shame they couldn't make that 6.3 a bit more reliable. It's extremely light for it's power output, actually rivaling the GM LS/LT, it makes power everywhere, and it is probably the 2nd best sounding engine money can buy that isn't in an exotic, number one being the e60 m5.

well the gm small block and the amg 6.3 are some of the lightest v8's ever made.

In regards to the camaro comparison, its not impressive at all that the camaro, being 5 years newer, is on the same level of the 1st gen pleb amg.

Yeah I'm a fanboi, but not without reason though.

Well I've driven both, and it pretty much is in many ways.

Camaro would roast it on the track because of it's handling limits, which I didn't test in the amg but just assumed since it's lap times are not incredibly impressive, but for spirited driving it was a pretty similar experience.

Lexus? You buy a Lexus if you don't care about cars. None of them sound or look good.

Evo X is way better than a predator-looking assed Lexus. CR-Z looks better than any Lexus.

Besides, things have changed

This happened:

So this happened

So, this looks good, sounds good, and goes good. **** a Lexus.
