Default Dad displays closed pocket knife during a school safety meeting.

A parent displays a closed pocket knife during a school safety meeting in Rocky Point on Wednesday, unsettling many in the crowd.

I think this just shows how unsafe our weapon-free zones really are. Not sure if the parent had charges pressed upon him but it amazes me that parents are unaware just how easy it is for someone to do this.

That was his whole point. Not to be threatening, which obviously that long haired weirdly loud kid thought, but to bring up a valid example of how ill prepared faculty are. Btw that kid, I just wanna bitch slap him in the mouth and tell him to stfu. So annoying.

A scary sense of a reality check for those that seem to believe weapon-free zones work, when they don't.

Should make an example out of this guy, its a weapon free zone and if he didn't abide by it than heavy charges should be made. How else are weapon free zones going to work if there are no heavy repercussions to follow along with it.

Are pocket knives really that unusual these days? I carry one everywhere I go, and so do many guys I know. Especially car guys.

Gotta love how the entire group turned into a bunch of vaginas over a closed pocket knife....."that's fear mongering!" from the back was extra special.

I carry a pocket knife pretty often, feels good man when you can just flop one out on the table and destroy a box to open it. Nomsayin?

I carry a multi tool with a pretty slick blade on it....the fact it got that kind of reaction is comical.

What's the point to carrying a pocket knife seriously? and don't tell me for opening boxes and **** like that.

For me, opening boxes is actually a very big thing in daily workplace. I definitely need a blade on me for that. I'm receiving tech equipment all the time.
I've also spliced wiring, cut cable, etc with it all the time.

That's what I carry around daily.
