Default Chipotle Review

First time going to Chipotle.

Here is what I ordered

Barbacoa

Half half beans

Corn stuff

Extra cheese

Hot salsa

Chips and more hot salsa.

Ordered online. Quick, easy, painless.

Set pickup time for 5:00pm.

Showed up at 4:50ish, it was ready.

Sitting on order shelf. Picked it up, could have just walked out with somebody else's order (or not ordered and just stole food) nobody was paying attention. Verified with cashier all was good and left.

I live 5 minutes away.

Burrito kinda cold. Dunno if it's supposed to be a fresh hot burrito like at a Mexican restaurant, so

Barbacoa seems like seasoned shredded beef. It's good.

Burrito is good.

Wish it were hotter (temp)

Salsa good.

Chips good.

Price is decent for what you're getting, but a legit taqueria is better and cheaper. Chips n salsa would be free there.

The man behind the restaurant is a good dude. I think he's done right with this spot. (Listened to a podcast about how he built the Chipotle empire)

Overall I say it's a solid 7.8 out of 10.

If the burrito were warmer it'd be a 8.6.

Place is trash frequented by hipsters and Starbucks dropouts, you couldn't pay me to eat there. Young kids not following food handling procedures and food sitting out all day with multiple people touching it? Hard pass from me bruh.

There's far too many good Mexican joints in CA to eat at Chipotle.

Honestly, if Taco Bell had better quality meats, I’d rather eat there.

Chipotle isn’t awful in a pinch, but like 2L said, plenty of legit and quick joints to get a better tasting $8 burrito.

I haven't had any negative experiences at Chipotle, thankfully. The chicken is better than the barbacoa imo. Like others, it wouldn't be my first choice (for Mexican food). Taco Bamba is my favorite local place. So good.

Got a local taco joint, 2 dollar tacos, they close at 2am so if I got the munchies I'm there. Don't mind the drive either.

I donít think it should really even be compared to a traditional taqueria. Iím either in the mood for one or the other. Any taqueria is going to have roughly the same menu and same burrito ingredients. Chipotle has rice, no refried beans, queso, that corn stuff.

I like chipotle though, but Iíll eat anything.

I love chipotle so much! Your review is fair and this thing called “tastes” are subjective, so the h8rs will do as they do.

And yes you are 100% correct on this...itís the definition of American Mexican - a decent option for what it is. IMO, it is on the same tier as 5 guys

fast food prices, fast food service, but real food That you donít have to choose from a menu, you can just tell them how to make it.

Also, comparing it to a traditional ‘Tex-mex’ restaurant it’s a very good establishment.

The only thing Taco Bell has going for it is 3am drunken drivethru escapades like telling them we have $33 between the 4 of us and we need as many tacos as that can buy. (Turns out it was 29, and we ate them all)

As a native Southern Californian, I can appreciate it for what it is. The wife and I actually had it tonight since it's perfect and easy to meet macros there. I don't get the hate. It gets the job done.

I hate how they don't have jalapenos or Chipotles (peppers), their food needs more heat options. The "hot" sauce is weak and tastes funny too.

Complains it was cold because he didn't have it made in front of him....and it already sitting on order shelf 10 minutes before he said he wanted to pick it up. Go figure

I live in a part of the world with a heavy percentage of Hispanics.

I'm up to the gills with Latin American food. :-)

It takes a really good cook to tempt me with Latin American food. It can happen, but it's very unlikely to happen in any chain.

We also have really good Indian restaurants in my part of the world, for the same reason. I'm not sure what's attracted them but we also have a high percentage of Indian immigrants (including Pakistanis, Bengalis, Afghans, Sri Lankans, Kashmiri, Nepalese, and so on....).

I eat it once a year. Actually just had it this past Tuesday. They do buy one get one free for Teacher Appreciation Day. I’m not picky, I think it’s good, just no reason to go very much.

There is no reason to compare it to a traditional place. That said Moe's is better imo.
