I've had my capital one credit card since i was 16 and i have no complaints. i say just get any card with a low APR if you plan on holding a balance.

Stay away from citicards. I got a student one a touch over 4 years ago, never payed late, never missed a payment, suddenly, they started harrassing me (about 2 weeks ago) calling every day saying my account was past due (even though I paid them on time, in full, have check stub, and online confirmation). After this, I realized that they're just trying to screw me over, and I can do better, so, I'm dropping them and getting a discover card (so i can use it at sams instead of using my debit card) with frequent flyer miles

Hrm /\ Thats a bit discomforting for me. I have had my Citi cards student card for prob just about 1 1/2 years and I like it so far (5% cash back on gas, drugstores, and grocery's) but I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I think I will stick with this one for now. 5% back on gas purchases add up rather quickly with the way the prices are.

Best credit card would be the one you can charge **** to an not have to pay it back.
I'm still on the lookout for one of those.
But honestly, The best Visa card you can have is a check card.

I have a Porividian.

Capital One Can Eat it.... I had them for 1 1/2. Always paid in full, never late. had a 23% APR and a 300$ limit. I call to request a lower rate and a higher limit and they said after 5-6 billing cycles. F that

My Providian is 1k Limit and 8% FIXED apr

Don't go with capital one. No matter how good your credit is and even if you never have any late fees or overlimits, as soon as you screw up once they try and expletive you over big time. That's how they make their money. I've had my card for 4 years and I've always had the balance paid on full on time and I went over once and long story short it became a huge thing and they wouldn't let me raise my credit limit. My mom worked as a credit manager for like 10 years and she couldn't believe the way they were handling it. So I just picked up a Discover student card and am cancelling the captial one.
