Trader Joe's has it. You want to get the kind that is not in syrup. Jack Fruit is a great meat substitute for things like pulled pork but it has no protein unfortunately.

Just had a nice medium-rare calf's liver at Silver Diner. 'Twas awesome. And now my hands have stopped shaking lol.

Same here. It's probably been 10 years since I had a steak, and I'll eat a burger once every few months. I'm all about chicken, turkey, and fish, plus I supplement with protein powder...I think I do well. Red meat is just not good for you. Like I do enjoy the burger a few times a year, but I never crave a steak.

Same. Def. need chicken and turkey and protein powder to meet my daily protein goals.

I eat a lot of almonds too.

For me red meat and pork are an occasional treat. I love a good steak or cheeseburger but I usually have one or the other maybe once a month. For pork its the occasional bacon usually on a sandwich.

The wife loves beef though - tacos, meatballs, meat sauce and etc. I've been trying to get that switched for ground turkey instead.

BTW: there are benefits to red meat that Turkey doesn't have.

Red meat is regarded by many to be essential when paired with greens. "Heme iron"

It's not good to overindulge, but abstaining isn't good either. A friend of mine was on some quack diet for a while until her Dr said "eat red meat or die."

The path to that is lined with wasteful consumption, red meat in every meal is a part of that

Unless she is incredibly low on iron, I doubt that's the fix.

Yep. I havenít eaten meat in almost 2 years and my iron count went from 18 to 17 when I give blood.

(Results may vary )
