NO on the GTI. If you want .....the water pump, intake manifold, timing chain tensioner, AC lines and serpentine belt to go to **** before 100K, go ahead and get one. I CANNOT WAIT to get rid of mine this fall.

Focus ST has a lot of issues, main ones being resale, a shifter that was seemingly pulled from the Ranger parts bin and an e-lsd that isn't very good for track use as it'll quickly fade your brakes it works so hard trying to control wheelspin. I'd rather roll the dice with any of the other 3.

And since when is the Si a hatchback?

That doesn't seem like "a lot".
I know it's always a topic but how many of you are thinking resale when you buy a car, buy what you like or is fun to drive, worry about resale when/if that time comes.

The factory shifter was crap and I hated it, they offer a Ford Racing unit you can find for a decent price or numerous after market ones, I have an aftermarket one and it feels great, all for $200 and an hour of my time.

The electronic "LSD" is poop for sure, good try and fine on the street but using the car as it was designed, it misses the mark.

There are more, but I didn't feel like getting into such things like crappy motor mounts, etc. Basically, all things that go against the ethos of what the car is (supposed to be) all about.

And damn straight I buy a daily driver with a mind of what it'll be worth in a few years.

If we're talking just DD and not modding/tracking it....I'm still taking the ST.

Jump into them so we can see what you think, be good for discussion here.

The motor mounts are fine for stock trim but like any car, you start modding it and they will need to be upgraded as well. I have a Cobb roll stop mount but just so I can launch off LC at red lights in front of McDonalds and stuff.

Guess I just don't worry about that as I generally don't go through cars that fast.

You don't live where you get snow, do you? If not, the mech diff on the Honda is vastly superior to anything e-lsd in such conditions. That's a consideration for any DD in my area. It's part of the reason why I got rid of my Accord so soon because it absolutely sucked in the snow, even with real snow tires.

We get snow here in MD and the last 2 years I've driven on summer tires through the winter and never had an issue. Made it out one day in a powder mix of a few inches and was fine. Was actually surprised,

Oooooooo good point. I do get a tad bit of snow and heavy rains. I have a CRV for that, but if this is a "you have no other car except this one" type of deal....yeah, might have to reconsider.

Fiesta ST is the victor, may be down on power "on paper", you can make a **** ton of power out of the 1.6 easily and it is the most "alive" out of all of these.

EDIT: Oh look, someone said Ford so Todd had to show up and show us his placement on the autism spectrum.
