they really need to move their iphone refreshes to every 2 years. every year is just boring now imo. i guess i understand they can't, to keep pace with the market/competitor releases, but maybe they should "think different" about this.

I will be upgrading my iphone 7 plus and apple watch series 2 this year. Unless they drop the ball and do something dumb. From all the rumors that have been floating around this release looks promising.

I've been on the "S Plan" since they started the S models. Don't change that, please. So I'm all for a new phone every year, so I can get the S model every two years. I like it more when they work out the bugs.

I hear ya. They know all these things. Just the iPhone "special events" have lost a lot of charm to me over the past 6 years or so. I'm sure Apple's bankroll says, keep doing what you're doing! No complaints, I just remember when a new iPhone launch was the bees knees. I remember going to the ATT store 12 hours before they opened, twice, to get the new iPhone. Yeah I was one of those, back in teh day. Now I wonder if it's just older age, or just not really much innovation that has me thinking differently about it. I just think their was a golden period for this stuff, and we are through it, done and over it. I welcome new iPhones, but I'm just not as jazzed about them anymore as every year they are less and less significant leaps forward.

I know that feel. Getting the 3S was a dream. But I got mine later. When I got my 6S, it was like, where is everyone....I got choices, options, and good service cause they had nothing to do, and spent the time with me.

Correction to my reply, I have an 8. I skipped 7 all together because I wasn't happy they got rid of the 3.5mm jack. 8 may be my "last" phone because I don't see a need to upgrade. I heard the fashionable thing is to just replace the battery for $80 FTW.

yeah, that's the thing lost with 12 month releases. 24 months and people are ready for that upgrade.

and this release is just "S" release. faster processor, next release of iOS and that's it. oh wow, 2 more megapixel camera too! cause the photos an iPhone from 2016 take look like **** /s lol they don't look like ****. the battery life is still acceptable. speed and fluidity of the OS experience has always been a non issue for Apple iPhone. it's just doing it just do it at this point. an iphone 7 is still just as relevant power wise as whatever the newest phone is. they're just going through the motions at this point. the only tangible upgrade they've done in the past 3 years is "wireless" charging, which should have been implemented on the iphone 6, 6s at the latest. and they didn't do it until last year with the 8.

I want to upgrade to the X but I’m afraid the apps I use won’t support Face ID?

I went from 6 to SE to 7 and now 8 Plus. I think the only difference I can tell is the camera quality and obviously the screen size

Yeah because you basically went from a mobile phone to a mobile PC
