Default Anyone used TURO??

Planning to visit my parents in Cali (around the end of June this year) for about a week. I've used the typical car rental businesses such as Enterprise, Budget and more often, Hertz. Anyone used TURO? Seems to be a tad cheaper and less fees and ****. Any insight would be appreciated.

I don't mind using Hertz but I hate dealing with the bullshit at the counter. I've used them several times and those ******* take forever even though I already have reservations.

Yeah, rented an early aughts E-Class from some chick. Car needed suspension and brake work, but it was coming out of pocket over a couple weeks so was much cheaper than a standard rental.

Would Turo again

Was there any hidden fees? I checked and there's a guy who is listing his Mercedes C350, $32/day. He's willing to meet at the SF airport too. Tempting...Hrrmm….

Same here with Hertz. This past Spring, we picked up a SUV from the Minneapolis/STP Airport. Damn women at the counter was asking what we were doing in the area, blah blah. Bitch took like almost 20 minutes just to get us into a damn vehicle. My reservation wasn't In their system. WTF?!!

It has been years since I went to a DMV. Unfortunately I had to go to one in NJ (of all places) Th clerks were some of the coldest people I'd interacted with in customer service. I think i'd fit right in with my cold personality

None that I can remember. I did break one of the side mirror mounted turn signals, would have been crazy fees to repair, but she let me order a replacement and install it for her so I got lucky there Just be careful with it, or get the added insurance.

Turo is legit. Flew to PDX, booked a last minute Toyota Avalon. Dude even dropped it off for me. Unlimited miles too. No hassle really.

Gotcha. I just hate the rates of the typical car rentals. Even though I can use discount codes for better prices, I'm guessing it will be around $400+ for the duration of my stay.

Since it will only be me driving, I think this will be the better option. Thanks for the info.

I rented an E63 AMG using Turo. No ragrets. Car wasn't as clean as I'd like (needed to be washed/vacuumed) but w/e.

Used it a few times. It's great. Don't opt for insurance, yours most likely covers it

sweet....
For those who have personally used it, is it a day and night comparison to the usual car rental?? At least you know which car you're getting...right?

I mean...it feels like you're driving someone elses used car. Rental cars tend to be much cleaner and newer.

that's a solid point. I still have ample time to decide which route to go with.
