Default Anyone rent using Turo?

Anyone rent a car with Turo? Would you recommend? Anything to look out for when browsing cars? Share your good/bad experiences.

It's usefulness is regional because some markets are saturated with cheap cars and others are not. My wife used it in Denver and LA, said it was convenient, she rented Honda Odyssey both times because that's what she drives at home and in her mind, it's easier to drive a car you're used to. I haven't used it yet because all the cities I visit have cars that are more expensive to rent than a real rental company.

Check prices in different cities. When my wife went to LA, I saw 2010 Audi A4s goin for like $22/day. Here in SLC, it'll cost you $89 to drive off in a 1989 Chevy Silverado.

I would not do business like that, rent out my car. Never know what some people do with it.

Honestly, my favorite part about Turo was the fact that I was able to prove my hypothesis correct in that you can indeed get a 500 Abarth’s brakes to glow if you ride them for 10 miles up to 90mph. Looks like a legit rally car at that point. Warp does occue tho.

Ive used it a couple times, super convenient.

Last one was denver. Went to a wedding in the mountains so wanted a car with some ***** vs a crap rental that would be sucking wind the entire drive.

ended up being way cheaper too

turo provides it

So you have insurance for any accidents, and you have a warranty for any destroyed mechanical parts

There's a guy in my area that rents a corvette out for $225/day. He has tons of trips logged.
New corvette $50k
100 trips on turo, lets say average of 3 days each, that's 300 days of rental = $67,500
turo premium insurance, no deductible, covers everything, 40% of income
total income $40,500
Lets say the average usage was 75 miles per day, which is probably on the high side
you're left with an abused 2 year old c7 vette with 22,500 miles, but still in great condition since all damage has been repaired and any mechanical failures addressed. You paid a total of $9,500 for it.
Then you decide to sell it, even if you're honest about it, what would it go for, atleast $20k.
So you made $10k, got to drive a vette whenever you wanted.

Now imagine what you could make if you bought the car slightly used at a steep discount, or if you were more careful with the renters and got cheaper insurance.

Yup, some good deals out here in LA. Enthusiast cars for like $50-70 a day.

Y'all should see some of the cars on Turo in Dallas.

Definitely good for getting a car paid off quickly, at the expense of having it beat on.
