Default 365lb paused bench

Felt pretty good tonight. Just benched, didn't want to screw up programming for rest of the week and I didn't have a spotter. 375 and 385 are very close. Progression was 275x1, 295x1, 315x1, 335x1, 345x1, 355x1, 365x1, 275x5, 275x8, 275x6

That's a heavvvyyy pause! And I almost prefer paused presses over normal reps. For some reason I feel more accomplished.

Even though I felt tired....tried 375 today. Not pretty. Before this, did 315x3 and 335x3 with 2 second pauses on third rep.

That is considered a "paused" press? Which part was paused exactly? The part where it took him a bit to push it up because it weighed a **** ton?

The part in the OP that you must've missed. The 2nd video was not pause repping.

I'm proud of you, that's a ton of weight, but you should try to keep your lower back on the bench. From what I saw, your legs and back were pretty heavily involved on the way back up.

Yeah cuz legs have NO purpose in benching lol
Your entire body is heavily involved in a bench press. If it isn't then YOU'RE doing it wrong.

No spotter!?!!?! Living dangerously I see. I made the mistake at the gym and had to squirm away beneath the bar and look foolish in front of everyone. My max was 225 but I was around 170 at the time.

If he was a friend of mine and he was throwing the weight up partially by kicking his back into an arch, I would absolutely say something. My max is 295 X 1 ... not a ton by any means at 175 lbs, but it's clean, slow, and perfect every time.
