Like Bauley said why not? People think MR should be expensive because of brands like Ferrari. You’re just placing the engine in a different spot.

I think they'll get them out at 70k

They might start at 70k MSRP, but they will be doing the Porsche thing with options based on what Ive seen in the order sheet. 90% will have 90k+ msrp's on them without even adding much.

Yes, Corvette is an old people's car. I'm starting to want one. The current one that is. I do not want a "Ferrari" Corvette.

I like Ford's game plan better. Keep the Mustang a Mustang. When Ford wants to go all *****-out, they can mess with the Ford GT.

Not sure if I'd trade my C7 towards one or not yet.

Every source I've seen is saying the same thing. Whether they suffer an options crunch in that trim remains to be seen.

I wouldn't go THAT far but I agree that the eventual 5.5 TT flat plane crank V8 Z06 with be closer to $100k and the one with the hybrid motor at 1,000hp will likely be $150k+

Chevy's GT is the Corvette though.

They've kept the Camaro a Camaro.

This.

However, I'm really excited about this. This would be the first Corvette I'd ever consider actually paying my own money for.

Yes, good point.

I always see the Camaro as the 4 seater Corvette.

it is, more than ever now. Take a drive in a camaro and you will be like, what’s the point of the vette? Or you might ask what’s the point of the camaro.

Good they are getting some separation of the two now. If you need your FR america muscle with a gm small block the camaro is more than happy to oblige.

Completely agree.

The Vette was already knocking on the exotic/supercar door anyhow. Putting the engine in the right place will allow it to REALLY step into that role.

When the Camaro is so freaking fast anyway, why do you need a Vette that isn't much faster and is a ton less practical?

you’d actually think the camaro would be more practical. But amazingly it’s not. It feels like a legit 2 seater sports car, small inside and it has a small trunk, more difficult than usual ingress/egress. I have never spent a week with a vette so I don’t know exactly how unpractical it is, but it can’t be far off at all.

The mustang is way more practical and about what you’d expect from a big muscle car. The camaro is not like that at all. It’s deceiving. It’s pretty much exactly why the entire time I was driving the camaro I was thinking “what’s the point of gm having this and the vette.”

RIP that long, sloping Corvette hood.

Not mad about the MR chassis setup doe. Hopefully there's a sweet spot where they'll depreciate quickly enough that you can get one for $40k but have time to enjoy it before it falls apart.

Seems like it should be a cool car. Will likely draw a younger crowd for a change.

Wonder if my brother will cash in on his 7MT manual Z06 for this in a couple years or if he’s happy with the retiree edition.

Correct.

The Z06 will supposedly come with a brand new flat place crank 5.5l DOHC V8.

Lol you know they apparently got a lot of **** for that clear hood which Is why it isnt on the c7 zr1. I agree with you though I think a c6 zr1 is a good buy.

Haha yep, not surprised at all. A clear window to a giant piece of plastic under the hood probably wasn't the best idea but the inner ricer in me loves it.

The C7 ZR1 is bonkers and the Z06 is dope but C6 ZR1 with ricer hood is

I fueled up at the hucks gas station at the corvette museum in blowing green yesterday. I wanted to take a pic of this guy fueling up his z06 but his wife was staring right at me and couldn’t pull it off. Unbelievable outfit.
