A flatplane crank is not more prone to stress fractures than a cross plane crank, or vice versa, regardless of RPM or NA vs boost. It depends on the design, materials, forging, heat treatments, etc.

A Ferrari 488 uses a flatplane crank and under boosted conditions, revs to ~8K.

A factory Honda crankshaft is a flatplane design and it will support 1000+ horsepower. Obviously it is over engineered, as always.

Racing applications will usually gravitate towards flatplane cranks. And in series using production engines that came with a crossplane crank from the factory, engine builders are usually begging to switch to a flat plane crank.

Why do racing applications gravitate towards flat plane cranks?

I need to stop clicking on Mustang related threads. I need some blood in the brain to function. These threads send blood... elsewhere.

So latest "leak" says 1/14/19 will be the official unveiling. Most current "report" says 720HP/650TQ, and 10-speed AUTO (I can't see them NOT offering a manual though).

Damn a lot of vehicles getting dropped today

interested to see new escalade, no idea how they are going to compete with the navigator. A gussied up pickup truck isn’t gonna work this time.

If this car can handle like the GT350 (don't see why not when it's the exact same chassis)....Ford should have a big hit. All the power of a Hellcat, but the handling capability of the 350.

The video claims 10-second 1/4 mile, mid-3 second 0-60. And it sounds great!

Well that’s not a small blower.

Regardless of advertised power numbers, You should be able to pulley it to 900-1000whp
