1) Severely lessen values of older Z06's
2) Hopefully not have cooling problems/engine failures this time around

Might consider when 60k (or less) in 5 years.

BTW, what happened to chevy saying the Z06 was as much power as the chassis could handle and there wouldnt be a ZR1?

For what it's worth, GM leaked an engine code it's architecture and the chassis it would be be on a few months ago.

It was an all new dohc v8 for a corvette chassis.....

This has got to be the application for it

The real question is what will be louder; the awful sound of that wheezing dinosaur of an engine, or the rattling of the poorly fit/finished interior panels.

Probably the whining from import guys about how they can build something faster for $10k

You can mock the vette for a lot of things, the motors aren't one of them

The Vette had a DOHC motor in 1990.

Yes, and it was made by an outboard motor company. Chevrolet contracted the design to Lotus and Mercury Marine built it. Nothing about that motor was Chevrolet.

Shows how much I care about Vettes. Why did they go back to a pushrod motor after 89?

Look, people who don't know what they're talking about!

Pretty much. Poor kids who think that having a modded car with no interior is better than a car that still has a stereo and AC.

cheap, high hp, light, efficient, reliable

only thing that kinda sucks about them is the powerband, too much low end torque and not enough top end. Only one that ever solved that problem was the mighty ls7, which had some problems with the valvetrain though

Does it not count that Chevrolet owned Lotus?

Don't think that makes it lighter than a pushrod LS. Hell, LS motors are lighter than aluminum Coyotes.

So other than size and weight, the new DOHC definitely will have more potential over the outgoing block.

An LS1 only weighs like 150lbs more than an F20c
