Dude, that cake!!

It made me remember this gem my SIL made for one of our friends, obviously she was marrying a black dude and she is a white chick

Thanks! Technically my first was a pound cake that I turned into strawberry shortcake. Scratch all around; cake, strawberry compote, whipped cream..


The success of this one lead me to make the wife's birthday cake. The fondant was a standard marshmallow fondant that was interesting. It's simple AND tedious. Not expensive at all to make, although something like this would probably sell for 50 bucks or more. The lettering was hand cut with a paring knife lol! That was the real tedious part. If I had some letter stamps, it would have been a breeze (and probably more professional looking).

picked up a large pizza from a small mom and pop place (true Italian family own) for lunch.

Also picked up Thai food for dinner.
Wife - Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) with Shrimp
Me - Chicken Pad Thai (also for my lunch today)
Curry Puff (Karipap)
Mango Sticky Rice (Mango felt so good with my surgical root canal extraction I had the other day).

My wife tried to give our 8 month old son a taste of a noodle (Pad Thai) and Mango sticky rice but he won't eat it but instead playing with it .

I do something similar every evening but I toss em in olive oil, a little salt and pepper then roast them in the oven @400 for 10 mins on one side and about 5-8 on the other.

The browned florets are a little crispy but moist and buttery from the oil. Love em. I do all my veggies this way now. Brussel sprouts, so good. All of the leaves turn into chips. I could eat pounds of that stuff.


Made some cast iron pizzas last night



Paska bread for Easter of course.
