Well at the meat markets in Canada, a prime rib still has all the fat and the rib bone still on the eye, and the eye is just, well, the eye. It's not a cooking difference, it's a trimming difference. It would be almost like calling a striploin a T-bone.

striploin? must be a canada thing. yes I know a t-bone is a strip on one side, filet on the other.

here prime rib doent have a bone either. like in a restaurant.

when I worked at outback the ribeye was the exact same cut as the prime rib, just the prime rib was slow cooked all day and sliced per order.

Makes sense I guess. Terminology difference. When I used to cut meat we sold mostly bone on prime rib, and rib-eye was more of a customer request.

Must just be companies preference as to whatever they want to call it. It's not really a big deal, I still know what you mean.

I don't cook. But this is about as epic as it gets around here.

From a local joint called the Squeeze Inn. I think it's been on the food network a few times. So good.

It's delicious. They do a weird thing cooking it with the cheese, they cover it, then use ice on it somehow, to get it to form like it does. And it turns into a really flat piece of cheese that sticks out from the bun about an inch all the way around. It's their trademark, but even without the gimmicky cheese it's a damn good cheeseburger.

didn't realize you're from the Sacramento area. the Squeeze Inn is definitely a cool spot to grab a burger. the cheeze is amazing and so is the rest of the burger from the patty they use, to the pickles and choice of lettuce. it's more than the trademark cheese.

it's too bad that they're forced to move from their quaint building / location (close to my work) because some broad who files dozens of Disability-lawsuits said that the restraunt is not ADA compliant and renovating the old building would be too costly on their part.
