That is what is absolutely going on. Honestly, it's a race to the bottom and it will be hilarious to see what bullshit manufactured crisis gets called a national emergency going forward. The only silver lining is that the money is coming out of the pentagon so imma sit back and watch it all unfold.

So it's early and I'm barely awake, I want to make sure I understand you guys.... 5 times the amount of illegal aliens coming through our border in one month is no big deal, and you have no problem with as many illegal aliens as possible coming through our border?

That's what it sounds like you're saying, I just want to be clear.

All I'm saying is that nothing matters anymore and with national emergencies, going forward, congress really has zero purpose. I still can't even figure out why people would immigrate to this country, it's terrible.

There's nothing left to discuss, trump's going to do whatever he wants with zero checks on his power.

Sounds like you're having a rough day friend. I'm sorry you're in a bad mood. Maybe go drink a beer and flip on a good movie?

I had just finished reading ^ this post when I came back in here and read your last.... it's clear you're not in a great mood today and I'm sorry. You and I have argued about climate change, but I could give two ***** about that, you seem like a cool guy and you've been bummed out lately and it shows in your posts, I'm honestly worried about you the last couple weeks. Did you have some major personal event lately? Either way, PM if you want to talk. People care man.

Don't bring that **** in here. If there's one single take away from this forum, it is that people are only here to serve the purpose of making everyone miserable while at the same time cheering for their devolution. I know you don't care, nor ever will, same with everyone else. Frankly, you should be happy when people on the other side suffer as that's all that matters these days, so miss me with the superfluous platitudes and fake compassion, I know you don't actually mean that.

Right? I can't wait for coop to make fun of me again for being sad about a girl I was seeing attempting suicide and thankfully failing last month. We need to get back to the important stuff, like seeing how much money we can make off that plane crash in the stock market.

76,000 that we encountered. How many made it through?

Sounds like an emergency to me.
Actual data, for reference (I don't know why the article you referenced didn't cite the exact numbers)

https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/sw-border-migration

I'm not buying or selling but I would point out the number seems to have a lot of variability. Whatever the CBP was doing in FY2017 though looks like it drove the number down.

do you think a wall will really solve anything?

I really think that money allocated could be spent in better ways to help stop illegal immigration.

I don't think it will stop it, but it'll make a big dent.

I'm willing to listen to what you propose that ICE agents and various government officials haven't thought of yet.

they should keep doing what they are best at - splitting up families and letting a couple children die in rooms on the border. Seems the current admin has it on lock-down. I'm sure the national emergency will sort it all out.

Multinational operations surveilling the border. Drone patrols. BPA patrols in more areas, and not just sitting in trucks.

Blanket the border with with multiple means of detection and apprehension, not just a static wall that can easily be defeated. There are a lot of different technological means out there to do this, but we don’t do enough or bother.

Reality of it is, there will always be border hoppers. There will also always be jobs available to them, too. Why not make it easier to cross the border and get legitimate jobs, pay taxes and be miserable like the rest of us?

One of the folks I follow on Twitter retweeted some trumper idiot to make fun of them this morning.

I peeped the comments on the original post and it boggles my mind how stupid you have to be to be one of his supporters.

One of them claimed we spend $82,000 per person in this country on imagrants (his spelling, not mine).

All of them were claiming the wall is in fact a national emergency.

Also watched a documentary on flat earthers last night. They're the same people. The same uneducated dingleberries think they're smarter than everyone else but can't tell you the difference between a democracy and a republic (what's up Rguy, this is inspired by you & your inability to do so )
