The Supreme Court wanted to know why the government was asking the question.

So they had to find somebody who could tell a convincing lie about that.

The boast that they can get what he wants from other sources is also a lie. Making any kind of budgetary decisions based on the information he gets from these agencies will bog them down for a decade, a decade that he does not have.

It is all posturing and lies, just like always.

All this time and effort that we are spending trying to cover up the mistakes of a man who should not be in this position.

:-(

It is not just pissing off Democrats.

It is also slowing down the legitimate Republican implementations of policy.

Activity is not a substitute for accomplishment.

I think it's funny that Gore Vidal was right. Republicans claim they can't stand the winning despite overwhelmingly losing. And you have their constituency giggling like a toddler farting in the bathtub. It's really quite hilarious from the outside looking in.

"As societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate, action: you liberate a city by destroying it. Words are to confuse, so that at election time people will solemnly vote against their own interests." -Gore Vial

Are they really losing though?

They are destroying the opposition, and the Civil Service, and the tax base. They are getting what they have always wanted, total domination and one-party rule.

I mean, look at this.

Barr is now attacking the completely obvious and universal conclusion about who Russia wanted and on whose behalf they interfered.

So if you're not a Republican President you can't beat your wife or molest kids. That's heartening.

I don't think they are destroying the opposition. I think you're just spending too much time on twitter.

The Civil Service really can't be destroyed but I'll grant you it has been severely undermined. The tax base has gone through similarly painful challenges in the past. This can be done in a single swing of the vote.

They got judges that do not agree with them. Life time appointments can be tricky. People can grow an enormous sense of honesty when they don't have to lie to a constituency.

Losing the optics battle on the border. Lost the wall battle. Lost the prescription drug battle. Lost the census battle.

I pray, oh do I pray, that he tries to make the Medicare/Social Security cuts he was talking about and pisses off his base immensely. All these old folks that only get Fox news in Podunk, Nowhere will lose their ****. "What do you mean my die-uh-beat-us meds are now triple?!?! Who done [email protected]!?"

Absolutely disgusting ***** in this administration. It's hard to believe this is our reality. I hope this whole Epstein thing opens up an entire world to the public and that anyone involved (on both sides) is taken down. We need respectable leadership in this country, not these power hungry sexual deviants that we have in place.

The exodus from the Senior Executive Service has cost us a generation's worth of competent leadership.

Seriously.

It will not be fixed in my lifetime.

Remember that they came into office with the express purpose of "...dismantling the administrative state."

You've seen the Yom Kippur War, the UK withdrawal from East of Suez. You've seen Iraq One and Iraq Two. You've seen Afghanistan. You've seen the Falklands War and had to compensate for Reagan being on the wrong side of it. You've seen the Soviet Union break up and you've been a part of the ultimate Triumph of NATO and the Great Alliance.

Are you seriously going to stick around to play with these know nothing goons who were placed in power by your greatest enemy nation state?

No, you're not.

You're gone. And your son is gone. Your grandsons are coming in, but nobody is there to teach them anything but lies and crookedness.

No surprise.

Look at the way everyone associated with Trump are being treated; relentlessly attacked by Dems, news outlets and fringe meatheads alike; being harassed/assaulted in public and at their home(s); all these extreme "***** and fascists and racists! " labels and despicable tactics used against the GOP. Good entertainment for numpties and partisan hacks, though!

When the POTUS is likable enough, we turn a blind eye to criminality. Unless, of course, the event is too large to write off as conspiracy theory. Even then, most folks just feign a little give-a-damn and then reset the ol' tunnel vision.
