This was a par 3 hole on the back nine playing the blues (farthest box). 220-225 par 3 and usually my hybrid at the driving range is right at 225 straight. It went 225, just left....way left.

Exactly, that's why you drink when playing so you can laugh your *** off at every terrible shot.

My TM hybrid is about the only club in my bag I hit straight every time. Love that club.

It's not about playing well, it's about getting outdoors and having fun without "too much" exercise.

If there’s someone behind you playing faster, finish the hole and at the next block invite them to play through. Or even wave them through when you’re on the green.

Do NOT be that ******* guy/group holding everyone up. Letting people play through is not a big deal.

You won't be the worst one, or the slowest one out there, especially playing public courses.

Hatch being new, one suggestion is it's OK to suck like the rest of us, but you cannot suck and be slow.

Yesterday for example we had a foursome skip over us on 1, which is bullshit. We had a foursome in front of us, too. We caught up to them on 3 and they’re taking their sweet *** time hitting multiple 30 yard fairway shots. My buddy crushed a 3 wood into them (honestly he wasn’t trying to hit into them) and one of the ******* guys stomps on his ball. When we get to the green the guy does that arms out puffed up chest bullshit asking if we had a problem.

Don’t be that ******* guy either. If you decide to skip a hole don’t proceed to play slower than **** and get pissy when the group you skipped is hitting into you.

What is the "optimal" group size for baddies playing golf on a public course?
I've played a few times and really like it, but I'm pretty sure I'm terribad at it.

Group size doesnt really matter, but if everyone is equally pretty bad I would recommend playing a "Best Ball" style play-through. This way everyone still gets to shoot but it typically takes less time per hole if the course is packed and people are on your heels.

4 person max. If the course is tight and you’re the bottleneck, play a 2 on 2 or 4 person scramble.

Killer, that makes sense, just whoever finishes first finishes for the group and we all go to the next hole.

By 4 person scramble do you also mean a "best ball" style?

Scramble is really what I was thinking of, Best Ball is just what Ive always heard it as. Everyone tees off and whoever's ball is in the best position, everyone's next shot is from that ball until everyone makes it in the hole. This works best with larger groups. Most courses Ive gone to only allow groups of 4 at a time anyway so groups larger than 4 would be split up.

best ball is a good suggestion.

Also don't spend too much time looking for your ball. Don't be afraid to pick up your ball and drop in a better location. Play "ready golf" meaning don't play in strict order of furthest form the pin. If you're ready for your shot, take it.

Agree with everyone else here. Everyone sucks, you just need to keep moving and not holding up those behind you. In the Tee box if you shank it, take one more. If you keep shanking it, just pick up your **** and head 200 yards down the fairway and drop for another shot.
