I think we'll test down to 2713 or so. Need to fill the previous gaps.

I wonder when the markets will realize that there isn't going to be a trade deal...not for a very long time at least.

I just got back into crypto. I think I got back in about 3 months late, but hopefully I can make up for lost time with some heavy round the clock day trading.

I'm in for $100. I've already day traded my way to $105. It won't be long until I'm a crypto hundredaire!

Still waiting to gain access to my coinbase account. Keeps asking for 2-step verification, which I never set up, so I can't log in. When I look at the FAQs, it says to set up 2-step verification, LOG IN to your account and go to the settings... IMPOSSIBLE!

Hey all, question. My wife has a 401k with $35,000 in it from one of her former employers. I want roll it over from Transamerica to an IRA at Vanguard, and the only option I see is 401k to Roth IRA.

In our mid 30's, what's the better play here? Rollover to a Roth IRA and pay taxes now, or to a traditional IRA and pay taxes later?

Depends - do you plan to be in a higher tax bracket when you retire, or a lower one? If its higher, then do Roth, if lower, then Traditional.

If it were me, I'd leave it alone, unless there is some reason you really want to move it.

I do ROTH because we file taxes separately which messes with the brackets for the deductions and I earn to much to get the tax benefit of a traditional.

Also, shouldn't he roll over to a ROTH? I thought that was a backdoor way to get the benefits of both.

Sure - move to a state that doesn't tax retirement income.

I'd rather have the access to more options that Vanguard provides, and our Roth IRA's, brokerage accounts, and 529 are already there.

Should definitely be in a higher tax later.

Thanks for the feedback!

I started buying at $94. People saying it was too expensive then. And each quarter it just crushes it.

IT's not as simple as thinking about tax bracket when you're going to be retiring. Yes, you'll want something like a ROTH to keep income level low in retirement, but you don't want to do it by rolling over an employer plan. Keep in mind rolling into ROTH you'll have to pay income tax on 35k and possibly 10% penalty depending on age for the conversion. Confirm with former employer that the contributions made are pre tax or after tax. If pre tax, roll into traditional. IF after tax, roll into Roth.

Backdoor Roth is generally used for higher income earners that are phased out based on income level. Contributing to non deductible ira, and transferring to ira would achieve this. If you have a 401k with pre-tax contributions and rollover into ROTH, you will not achieve a back door roth, and you'll be hit with tax implications, including/not limited to being pushed into a higher bracket based on current income.

You should just buy it now at the price it is. Keep buying if it heads lower. You are missing the boat.

If it is too high then sell the puts
