Default Zex 95300/105300 cam valve lash question

I installed my y8 head the other night with my zex 105300 cam in it and did a valve adjustment. I did it to factory specs of .20mm intake, .25mm exhuast and the valvetrain is louder than hell. I have full ferrea valvetrain. I was wondering what you guys have your valve lash set at with this cam and if it is loud as well. Thanks,

Pfieff

It is loud because you have WAY too loose of settings. Should be .006 and .008.

Edit:
Where the hell did you get those settings at? Did you read the instruction book before installing? (Sorry, had to ask)

Yea thats huge. If I remeber right the range is .008-.011 exhaust and .006-.009 intake. I always use around .006 and .008 but I thought I remeber some of the aftermarket cams need them a few thousanths looser.

Even at .007/.009 my car still sounds like a diesel.

I have the same problem.

What clearance should I run then? Tighter?

(completely stock rebuilt head)

I wouldn't go tighter, I've heard a few D's with this cam, stock heads to fully built ones, all sound the same.

I realize that I put my first post in millimeters and you guys are posting in inches. If you do the conversion, I'm right on where you guys are. Guess they are just going to be loud.

I think I read somewhere that it has something to do with the lost motion assemblies.

Back from the dead, sorry.

I'm at 0.006 intake/0.008 exhaust and it's pretty loud to me. Can I get away with the exhaust a little tighter? Say, 0.006-0.007? Or what would happen if it's too tight?
