Your thoughts on an oil cooler for my setup...
car- 94 rs teg, built b18c running 14.5 psi @ high boost setting. I have my downpipe, dumptube heat wrapped and I see oil temps up to about 80-84 degrees celcius on a fairly warm day. When the temp outside is like 40-50 F, I run around 65-70 degrees celcius.
From what I have looked at, you can do a decent oil cooler for around 100 bucks, and I have considered putting one in, and doing it inline with the oil feed for the turbo. Would this be the ideal place? I figured it would prolong the life of the turbo, but I also just got my greddy timer in also... I know the cooler is good insurance, but i'd just like some input on whether or not to put it in the turbo's feed line or not.

Honestly, 84 Celcius is nothing when it comes to oil temp. in fact it's just right. A cooler is definitely not needed, and may in fact be detrimental, not allowing the oil temps to remain at a normal operating temperature.

Re: (ForceFedDetroit)
wow, so I'll save my money and dump it in my traction bar setup. It does feel good though to drive around and see 60 degrees celcius all day Maybe I'll wait until summer and see what my temps go to.
Actually since I put my heat wrap on, I haven't saw past 72 degrees celcius, but it has been cool outside. I think the heat wrap has helped considerably though seeing as how the downpipe runs really close to the oil pan.
